You can now load the 48 GBs of Half-Life: Alyx! The game itself won't be available to play until this Monday at 1 p.m. / noon Central! If you're like me, you don't have anything else to do and are stuck at home anyway! You should be able to play the game on the Rift, Rift S, Quest+Link, Index, and probably a few other VR HMDs as well.
Just started playing SWTOR again. Still fun - going through as a bounty hunter.
Yeah, I'll probably pick it up again after another year or so of story updates build up lol. Just finished Fallen Order which satiated my Star Wars game appetite for a while!
No combat or missions or anything, but you can hack in your look (FA uniform) via their website and hyperjump and run around. Hardlines work so you can quick travel to places. It's on a server so I imagine you could run around with other people, but no one was on when I was running around.
Build didn't last. Started doing a reboot loop in less than 24 hours. RMA'd the motherboard. Getting reboot with new motherboard. RMAing the CPU now. If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas...Tested new RAM and it's fine.
I got stung by a wasp for the first time today in lord knows how long. I’d say that’s pretty random and appropriate for the randomness thread! Am I right or am I right?!
There were some flying around right outside my apartment and I was worried about that while carrying in groceries. My girlfriend also got stung by a wasp two weeks ago, but we were out hiking in the woods so maybe not quite as random!
Who else is jumping in this next week? I'm really interested to see how it runs in VR and the grouping capabilities. We would love to have more people join us! You can play pancake mode if you currently don't have VR.
If you already own No Man's Sky, a free DLC is releasing August 14th that enables full VR support. According to press previews, the game has been fully revamped for VR and it's not just a quick port.
No Man's Sky's original release was controversial, since many of its promised features never made it to the live game. Since then, however, Hello Games has been adding updates that improve the game. No Man's Sky Next update that released last year apparently brought the game into it's proper form, including a four-man multiplayer. This VR update, labelled "Beyond", also promises improvements to the online multiplayer aspect of the game.
I know me and a few others plan on jumping in starting August 14th, so find me on Steam if you want to join up for the space exploring in VR!
I paused my sub once I got the Rift S and have been doing more VR gaming. I'm not sure if Broin is still jumping in from time to time or not. There might be faster ways of getting this gear since when new gear comes out, they make getting the old gear easier.
As far as I know Viveport is the Chinese storefront for the HTC Vive, so I wouldn't recommend that as a legit ecosystem. I'll try to stay logged in to Discord, so send me a ping when you're around! I just got back in town and have the weekend off.
Heyo Everyone! Been awhile since I've been on the boards or in game. Hope the you all are doing well.
Just ordered the Rift S today and should have it on Friday/Saturday.
Oculus Name: Bellthazor
Sweet! I've been playing the Rift S a lot since getting it. My girlfriend actually plays the Quest at the same time. We're both enjoying Beat Saber a lot - there's even a multiplayer mod for it. I played OrbusVR to max level but didn't have anyone to keep playing with. I've been doing SkyrimVR and am now on the expansions. I'm waiting for No Man's Sky in VR to come out, which is supposed to be sometime this summer. Rec Room has some good multiplayer games. VRChat is weird but worth exploring. I'd like to get back into Echo VR but need teammates!
