Looks like we were being attacked by Lite PS.  Mushrumz came and helped me send them off.  However there were 4 of them and they took our outer door down and second door down.  They replaced our second door with one of their own so we are locked into our own base. 

It is a damn good thing I logged in because the second door and portcullis were both OPEN, so if I had not closed them they would've been in our base proper.  Close your doors behind you ALWAYS.

I'm gonna hang out and do nothing in case they try and break through the next door.  Gotta go in about an hour so someone may want to check it out.

Go ahead, make my day.

It only takes 2 C4 to blow metal walls.  Also, something about a "sweet spot"

only 2 c4 on metal walls everytime, stairs and boxes and adjacent walls argument

Ok, we blew out their door and replaced our own outer doors, so everything is back to normal. The good news is that our defenses worked. They didn't try to get on top of the base and they didn't try to go through a wall, so we forced them to go through the front. Last night I had already moved our supplies closer to the center instead of near the entrance. Our goal today should be to try and finish up as much of the maze of doors on the first and second floors as we can.

-Make sure to close ALL doors. There are FOUR outer ones to close (three metal and a gate). Plus all the interior doors as you move around.
-Make sure to put high value supplies in hard to get to crates (currently the ones in the center of the base)
-We need to keep a decent supply of C4 to destroy any doors that our replaced by raiders.

Edit: Also Mushrumz (Erathaol's friend) was wondering if  he could help collect metal in order to have door access to the base. Obviously I said I'd have to talk to Erathaol about him. It would be nice to have another body to help, but there's also the trust issue since Erathaol is the only one who knows him. He's hanging out in TS, so feel free to chat with him and get a feel for him.

He seems cool, even though he killed me.  Erathol's fault though.

He's a super PVP type of guy, so he LOVES hunting and killing players in the wild.  We just need to prolly tell him that access to our base comes with a code of conduct.  Basically, don't be a griefer, don't smack talk, etc.

Erathol is close personal friends with him in real life, so if he vouches for him, and as long as Erathol assumes responsibility for Mushroom's actions, it should be fine.  Erathol should just give him a peptalk about our faction culture, how we work together, lean on each other, never steal from one another, give more than you take, etc etc.

Not talking letting him into FA exactly, but just to play with us would be cool.

Today Mushrumz and I made some C4 and raided a few locations, and came out pretty well ahead as far as our haul.  Got a small number of guns, some kevlar pieces, plenty of ammo, and a few other useful odds and ends. 
The places we hit were our neighbor in Resource Hole (he was already raided, but they missed a room), a very large wooden building all the way up just west of Ballzak Mountain, and a small home in the middle of Wasteland West.  Additionally, we are currently up to 10-12 C4, so even with the charges we used we are ahead (note: we didn't find a single charge raiding, damn!).

I took a big walk up north in a circuit along Next/North Valley and hooking west via Sweden.  It's SUPER empty up there.  Structures are few and far between, and we raided the notable ones I found.  There's more activity around Big Radtown up there, but it's otherwise very quiet.

I still need to find where all the heavy-hitters live, but when I do you can bet we'll all have a giant raiding party!

Not a bad idea to go ahead and set up a strike team to try to gather resources from other bases.

I think we need to build the outer perimeter up THREE LEVELS instead of two. As it stands now, someone could box/barricade to the second level, blow that, then box/barricade to hop on top of the middle wall, bypassing it, and then hop to the roof (or blow the third level wall once it's built). So that's only a two wall protection instead of two, even if we block off building stairs.

If we do a three-level wall, then even using the box/barricade method, they would have to blow all three walls to make it into the third level. The trade-off is lack of visibility from any windows that we'd build on the fourth level and up.

Also, if you haven't had the opportunity to do much metal gathering, please take the time to do that! Our base is unbelievably resilient being made of metal, but it's still not even halfway built. We needs LOTS of resources. We also need lots of wood to build large wooden storage crates.

-Raid attempt was made on our base by PS guild in the early AM. They got through two of our outer doors before being chased off by Mushrumz and Broin. They also plopped down their own door.
-Tore down their door and replaced our blown ones. Our gateway decayed, so there's no gate there anymore.
-Finished building door maze on first level. Built doorways and a few doors on second level. Built outer and middle walls on third level and began building inner walls.
-Erathaol and Mushrumz raided several bases (including our old Forest base..lol). Mushrumz was given door privileges.
-I ran into Sage and Mediks in Hacker Valley South. They were naked but said they were headed towards Joey to raid him. I was fully geared but left them alone and they did the same. I don't think they've figured out the strength of our force, so I figured I would play the long game with them.
-Talked to two noobs, swift1n3 and some other guy (guy that Erathaol killed). They were pretty friendly and looking for people to group up with. I told them we've known each other for a long time, so I'm not about to start giving new people permissions to all our stuff but to keep in touch. I also told them to steer clear of our area (since we don't want to attract attention over here and usually kill people we see poking around). Swift added me on Steam and I gave him our website to look around in. It appears we've built our base close to a "no camp" respawn, so I think we'll have the chance to make a good impression on a lot of new people joining the server, BUT we'll also be found out pretty soon by anyone who gets raided and has their bed destroyed...lol.
