hi chaps and chaplets

I have made a post in the above section regarding hyperjump beta. If any of you agree with what I have said and post in support I think it would assist.

If you dont agree then no problem but I do think it needs looking into!

For ease of reference I set out below the text of my first post:

"Forgive me if this subject has been discussed before. I am however concerned that hyperjump beta has become a privilaged ability which is putting a considerable number of players at a disadvantage.

When i started playing MXo in April of last year I accepted that i could not have the ability as i was not in Beta. I was also not aware that it was tradeable until it was too late (i.e. they took away its "tradeability").

That being said I never kicked up a fuss as I still viewed the abilitiy as a reward for beta players or those who were smart enough to get one.

Now however (due to the free trial reward) we have an influx of players who, when leveled to 50, will have an advantage over those of us that do not have it (i am talking about memory capacity in case this is not obvious).

In my view and to maintain a level playing field I would susggest that hyperjunmp beta be at least tradeable or codeable.

3 memory slots is crucial in maintaining an appropriate loadout and I would therefore be grateful if devs could review this and comment accordingly.

Many thanks "

Finally, any of you people who understand computers fancy assisting me in creating a sig?

Tally ho

Hmmm, I'm just upset that people who were not in beta have it at all. It kinda defeats the purpose of it being called hyper-jump "beta".

I can take a shot at making you a sig, let me know of any details you want on it and I'll see what I can do.

You didnt get the ability from being in beta, you got it from pre ordering.

If everyone could get it, it would not be unique. and that is its intent is to put people at a dissadvantage, or an advantage rather even though its not much one at all since you can barely jump a small building with it.

The real power of it is by using it with the task master beret so you don't have to load normal hyper-jump.

I agree chaps with your comments that it should be beta/ pre-order ony; the problem is that all the new people from the free trial have it too; there are therefore 2 groups of people with an advantage:

a) beta players - no problem with this, it was a reward;
b) "newbie" players - this is where the problem lies; why should someone who has been playing less than others and who has, as yet, expended no real time or money have an advantage over those of us who have done both?

Like I said before, they should take it away from the trail players. Perhaps if they choose to continue their account they could have a system that removes it.

I doubt any of this will happen, though. It's not like SOE to take advice from its customers.

Edit:

Nevermind, didn't know that it was non-tradeable now.

I never load hyper-jump anymore, which saves me 2 slots of memory, and these can make or break any load-out of mine.

Like I said, it comes in very handy.

I have a level 15 character that can jump as far as a level 50 :P

But, that's because I got mad skillz...however, you must understand that while it was a bad thing to grant it to trial members, it was a necessary evil.

SOE had to offer some incentive to get players to play the trial. To be honest, people will flock to free trials, but without goodies to show for it they won't want to stick around.

It's sad, but true.
