The reqs need to be toned down a lil bit....or a LOT
-
I think their fine. Higher the req mean younger kids on daddy's compute can't use the game. Plus I want the best experiecne possible.
-
ya but im 256 short on ram...o well ill steal some from school...
-
i think the requirements are fine... ill just get 256 more ram... only thing i find wierd is the neccesity for a Soundblaster sound card....
-
what im thnking is these are the recomended specs....and theyll want higher end comps before all others.....at least its easy to get ram and processing power....and i really dont feel like wasting money on a sound card. As long as it can play 128 quality perfect, it doesnt matter...
-
proccessing power isnt too big on that stuff though.... its Vid card and Ram thats the most important most of the time, and only god knows why they need a Soundblaster Specific sound card
-
I'm 256 short on RAM too, but they don't need to know that :). I've played other games with less than par RAM and its had no effect except that loading the main menu and switching between menus takes a few moments. Not meeting specs has ever actually affected my gameplay though. Also, I'm working on getting a new comp pretty soon (fingers crossed).
-
ff xi wouldnt work with my 128 mb xtasy graphic card...had to buy a ATI radeon to beta for it.
the lesson kiddies? dont buy bobo or "experimental" graphic cards....
-
I got some upgrading to do, but I'm only gonna upgrade graphics card and ram. hopefully the rest of my system will hold up.
-
I got my friend to sign up on his computer for me. I'll be spending a hell of a lot of hours over there if he makes it. The kid's the man!
-
I like the high specs, and I will be meating them once I get more ram. Which I will be getting anyway...
-
The only minimum specs listed are those for Beta. We still don't know what the minimum specs will be for the actual release.
-
werd. dont matter what they require. I GOT IT ;)
-
Ditto with the ram, but im not gona upgrade till the games comes out, things will be cheaper and the reqs might have gone down, but im definatly gonna have to get a new graphics card and som RAM
-
Am i good to go with a p4 2.6 ghz processor with 512 ram and a GeForce FX 5200?
-
yeah i'd say so, but u might wanna buy som more RAM tho, cos they might be the min specs and having the min specs on anything is not cool, depending on whether they want DDR ram which is twice as fast, if they are not wanting DDR ram and u have DDR then you will be fine, im gonna buy a 512 i so i can get up to 868 DDR... super fast
-
:D, I want to buy an ATI Radeon 9800 XT and another 512 of ram, then i will have a fricking sweet computer.
-
i got a 5200 fx also... mine is agp though...
-
Arch, your URL aint working... change the (http:// and ) to lower case, like so; (http:// )

Just bought a whole new system on the 2nd, including the 9800 pro, this card rocks, the 1.5 gigs of ram helps too. Remember Ram is cheap and it is worth every penny. I do highly recomend the card.
-
I have had this system for a year:
Processor: 3.2 GHz
RAM: 2046 MB
Video: Radeon 9800 Pro 128 MB
Audio: Sound Blaster Audigy 2
I am fairly confident in regards to this title....

ram is cheap??? what?
512MB ddr pc3200 for 90 bucks (WHOLESALE) is cheap? dang I remember when Ram was as cheap as 50 bucks for a 512 stick.

woot! awww but dont tell me it's Intel?? awww.... ;) Nice system man! Daddy must loooove you. :P

It was entirely my money, actually, and I bought it during my parent's divorce. It was a good year, honest....
It was either this computer or a car, and I decided upon this computer. Probably says something about my priorities.
Yet the only thing I truly regret buying are the speakers. I should have kept my originals. The Klipsch THX woofer is pleasant, though.

YAY for geeks! you rule! ;)
-
Yes, at least a few.
Presumably not the Macintosh, however.
-
which one? har har.
-
Holy snot. You own all those computers? :D
-
heh... yeah and I just added a couple more...
Not to mention about 3 pc's worth of parts in my cabinet. Not junk either... like athlonxp 2200's - 2500's heh
-
Im jealous... :)
-
you wouldn't be if you saw my electric bill.
-
I need a new fan for my geforce. The old one sux, if I push it too much, even with the cabinet open, it freezes. Also with a new fan a could overclock it a bit :)
-
best solution ever. Walmart/target/kmart + $15 = Floor boxfan!
Crack your case open set that box fan on high next to it and enjoy cooooool computing. ;)
-
Hehe.
But I like to be able to close my cabinet and still have it cooooooool :)
Would only be a temporary solution..
And a cheaper fan, maybe we have one here..
-
:P well if your vid card is overheating... and the fan is spinning at normal speeds then somethign is wrong. Perhaps its not even heat that's making it error. You could replace the fan fairly cheap. 10-25 bucks for a new cooling kit for it I imagine online.
What other things is it doing?
-
Hehehehehe, my comps bust at the moment! not good! no post! :( must speak in short sentences!
Stick a therm in there or get a program such as Motherboard Monitor and check the temps (or jam your hand in near the geforce). Download the latest drivers, the new geforce drivers even support mouse movement commands! (like spell casting in B&W how cool) hehe also check the spec of your comp against the game, if its freezing when it shouldnt be it might not be the graphics card (see if some games such as NWN run a script that leads to your comp crashin or if its just after a while of playing), failing that get new cooling!
hehe
-
Im pretty sure its overheating, as the problem was really bad with the closed cabinet, and now it just happens if the room is very warm and im playing some badass games. With closed it was impossible to play anything highres without a freeze every hour...
-
oh ok, then all you have to do is monitor the temps somehow, then youll most likely find the problem and the solution!
-
Umm..
You dont happen to have a program name for me or something? :)
-
Hmm, this is a bit strange. My processor gets really hot when i play games, so it reboots, even though i play 640x480 or 800x600. Also my fan is pretty undusty..
Anything bogus that could make it go hot faster? Cause it has run much worse lately than it did a year a go...and back then i still could use a cabinet. Maybe its getting a bit well-used... =)
-
*Stares blankly* can i have one :D
-
Of likwids computers i mean
-
Ok, mine isnt playable, but you know you want it :)
-
I'm gonna have to get a radeon 9200 if the MxO does not support 7500's.
-
No dont worry, i'm aiming to get AMD Athalon Barton XP3200+ 400fsb, Corsair 1gb DDR PC3200, Asus ATI Radeon 9800/TVD Pro 256MB, IBM/Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 160GB HD 8MB Cache-OEM, TrueBlue 480w PSU, Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS 7.1 THX, Akasa AK FC-03 Fan Controller Pro(with some cool LED fans) and the sickest case ever. All comes up to about £1100.
