New FA Coin for release

So for the new members we had at one point produced FA collector coins.... as seen on this thread.

We were discussing tonight and the idea came up for a new FA coin to be produced and made available for all members who were around for release.  

So we are taking suggestions for designs and what not... So use this thread for your artwork designs or ideas.

Personally I like the idea of the old Symbol on one side the new Symbol on the other and then the qoute "In order to shape our future...  .... We must first understand our past"

Though some others had some good ideas about the FA symbol on one side and the Repbulic Symbol on the other.

I love the idea.  I'm leaning towards the new/old FA symbols on opposing sides.  That way the new coin will have a connection to the history of FA rather than just swtor.

I'll throw my 2 cents in.. little joke there.. I'm in for a coin and my suggestion is Republic emblem on one side and FA emblem on the backside.

Those of you are familiar with the military should understand where I'm coming from on this - I'm in favor of having the coin be unique to SWTOR. The idea being that the coins should be unique to the mission or challenge at the time. By that measure the old coin gains value for its rarity and unique nature just as this coin will gain value and uniqueness years from now.

Well my ideas for this all is one I love the coin idea (military brat AF so I have a few from my father ). Two There is the trademark issue we might just want to use OUR logo not SW or we'd have to ask permission to do such cause this would brake copy-writes. I'm thinking mabey on the side of the coin we have the words etched in for the quote maybe in aurberesh and have the english on the coin it's self.


I'd also like to also hint coins for certain achievements like hitting max lv ( Like it would have the date you did it on and such so you have something to commemorate your success )to give people a drive or goals per-say. Maybe have an award or such for certain guild position like say each order would have their own coin specific to their members like squadrons. So when we would have get togethers we can throw down in coin challenges on who would by drinks or pay for dinner XD.

You could also have Commander coins for when someone in the order does something outstanding. Receiving a commanders coin in a big honor there are only a few even made and given out like I have my fathers commander coin and it meant a lot. ( I received one and 2 others in my father 200+ man squadron 740th Missile squadron Minot AFB )

I'm one for tradition so I fully support this idea and would love to be apart of the design team.

I agree with the idea but there could be a big hassle to allow us to do this cause someone is making money off the coin so legalities might be a bitch.

The coins would not be for profit at all.  They would be distributed to members who wanted to purchase them for the cost of production plus shipping.  

They would remain available only to guild members so I don't think we'd have a problem at all.

They would be limited availablity only to the members in guild at launch.


Looks like everyone is liking the republic and FA symbol.  Now how about color schemes, examples of design, any type of slogan to be put on either side. etc.,

This is how i feel about it. It gives the original coin and its owners a sense of uniqueness and rarity about it.

And the symbol has some give. unlike games workshop where posting one of their logos on a website incurs threats of legal action, Lucasfilm has historically been pretty lenient on the use of their symbols by fans as long as your not profiting from it in any way.
