Ha, the site is so busy they had to take it down! Woot Teamspeak 3!

Do you know what the restrictions are on avatars? Everything I choose just says "Invalid size"

Our Teamspeak module won't work until one is created for the new Teamspeak 3. Everyone make sure to download and login so we can set up your accounts!

Wow. Very nice program.

Oh and Tbone, it says the limit is 300x300 pixels. It let me put an Avatar up.

I think I was still a "guest" when I was trying to do it.

Avatars don't seem to load for other people however.

The audio quality is amazingly better than 2. I'm at my in-laws so could only jump on for a minute, but I'm looking forward to poking around with it a lot more after Monday.

Just a heads up they are already up to version 5 of the beta client. The auto-updater is down probably until traffic settles down.

You should all probably grab the latest client and connect up with the server again. You'll have to be registered by an admin again. I had to lose the old database to upgrade to MySQL and to fix the file transfer problems. So that means the new database should be more resilient to upgrades I hope and that avatars are working as they are suppose to.

If you grab the most recent version, from now on it'll auto-update if there's an update available when you connect. That's what it did for me anyway.

It's worth keeping an eye on the Teamspeak forums for cool plugins and addons that we can use to enhance our TS.

For instance, I found this cool sidebar gadget (http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=48455) for those of you with Vista or 7. Doesn't give info like channel and away status, but tells you who is in TS and allows you to connect.

There are several people working on web viewers for TS. Surely one of them should be fast enough for our site, no?

Anyway, you can browse the cool upgrades in development here (http://forum.teamspeak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=111). Be sure to share with us anything you find worthwhile!

The new server/client was released. You will need the latest client to join the server. Please use either the auto update feature built into client beta 9, or download from http://teamspeak.com

I recommend everyone download the Minimalist Text to Speech sound pack for optimal TS3 enjoyment!

Shortens "Tbone has joined the General Chatter" to "Tbone joined", etc. Much easier on the ears!

I've just joined... how do I get permissions? Shall I log back in when you guys are online?

Lithium or Tbone need to be online to give you permissions.

Your unique id has been given permissions. Next time you login with the account you'll have permission.

Can someone walk me through this... I finally got a mic working so jumped on, but I guess my name isn't registered, and i can't find a place for a user password (Just "Server password", so I'm still stuck in the Visitors area.

You have to login with your identity. Are you using the same computer you always have for Teamspeak? If you have switched computers, you need to upload your identity file to the new computer.

No clue whet that means. I reformatted last week.

Then you deleted your identity. I don't know any other way except for to set up a whole new identity.

How exactly would I do that? I don't remember doing any special steps before, and I know I've logged in with the new TS3. I'm in right now if someone could walk me through it.

I did it for you when you logged on earlier. You should be in the FA group now, so if you keep logging on as Fuse, you should be set.

Take some advice from me as I've had to do this on multiple computers as I could potentially log in on my laptop, desktop or my mom's computer.

Step 1 - Open up TS and go to Settings->Identities

Step 2 - Whatever Identity is the one Tbone or another SA said is the one they gave you permissions with is the one you want to select. Note that the title of the identity and the nickname do not matter (can be default/teamspeakuser or can be Dag's Profile/Dagonet). What matters is the unique ID which is that long string of characters (no you can't just manually enter it in). Also, as far as I know, security level does not matter for us.

Step 3 - Click on the Export button and save the .ini file as something easy to remember in a place you'll remember where to find it. Example Dag.ini I saved in my documents and emailed myself a copy so that I could grab it on any computer.

Step 4 - If for some reason you need that identity on another computer or need to reinstall TS, then when you open up TS, go to Settings->Identities->Import and voila! Now you can easily recover your unique identity anytime anywhere :-)

Guys, I forgot to save my file, and had to reload the OS< but will have to do it again tomorrow when I get the 64 bit version - so I'll need to get it reapproved or whatever....

I know I suck. Sorry.
