Title: Custom UI Files!
Post by: Fuse on April 13, 2012, 02:06:38 am
Check this site for xml files...
 http://www.swtorui.com/addons.php

If you have a layout you like, please share with an image in this thread.
I usually customize my stuff like crazy, but I'm pretty happy with a basic one for now...

I'm going to end up using something along these lines. I like the way it's set up, and it's very non-intrusive.

I'm still using the basic extended bars loadout.

The only things I changed: Player info bars closer together, mini-map maximized, and global size reduced.

I actually like the one your links ana, where'd you get it?

(By the way, I took this image specifically to yell at people when they get ninja'd. You should always be able to see incs and the actual node itself)

Digging the one Ana posted.  Looks very clean.

Here is one I'm fairly pleased with.... 1920x1080

Download: http://lostlocalhost.com/swtor/UI/FuseMAIN1.xml

Because I rarely do missions, I disabled the companion. I saved out a separate "FuseMISSION1.xml" on my computer for when I need her. Otherwise this is for WZs.

This is me being incredibly, ridiculously, massively anal, but... the two large character bars don't line up.  The right one is slightly higher, and that would drive me insane.

Right to left:

Focus Target, Me, Target, Target of Target.

I wasn't in a group with anyone at the time I took the screenshot, but I keep my Ops group 4x2 right above my focus target, that way I have a nice view of everything I need right in the corner.

what's your TS overlay?

Looks to be the built-in overlay.

Here's mine, based on the image Ana originally posted.

Overlay (TS and FPS monitor) is OverWolf.

This is your basic UI, optimized for DPS in raiding and warzones. Streamlines where you need to look, minimalizes clutter, and frees up your peripheral vision.

Here's my UI on the laptop. Just looks nicer on the PC. And Sared, what kind of monitor setup is that?

ive changed it alot now i found i was tunnel visioning into my hotbars with it layed out that way so ive streamlined it and moved the healthbars back to their default position.

This is what I'm currently running needs a little tweek here and there but all in all its nice and streamline.

I use a Razer Naga mouse which has 3 columns and 4 rows of buttons.
So, I set up my quickbars to mirror the layout of the 12 buttons on my mouse.  I use shift+, ctrl+ and alt+ for quickbars 2 and 3 and the companion quickbar.

Next step is to go into the xml file to center and align everything.

Ultimate healing set-up. If you're not healing this way, you're gimping yourself.

I've been meaning to update this thread with something new I am trying.

The idea is to align abilities in blocks of 3x4 to match the Naga mouse. One bar activates with no modifier key, one works off the Shift key, and one works off the Ctrl key. The 4th tool bar is setup to model the M1-M5 keys on the side of my keyboard. The 2nd row is activated with the Shift modifier. In theory this all seems well and good. But in practice I am finding I am not coordinated enough to use more that like the first row or two of the bars. In tight situations I find myself falling back on click-to-activate.
