Got into the beta yesterday. Was wondering if anyone else has. It's nothing spectacular "yet", but it's pretty fun so far.

So I now find myself staying up late, trying, for the life of me, to find a place where I can download or buy a copy of the game "Solar Winds", parts 1 and 2. It's an old Epic Megagames title, and if anyone could help me find it, I would be eternally grateful. :)

So I have some DVD's that I want to rip into digital format. I had a couple of tools (AnyDVD and others) on my laptop for this while I was in california, but now I need to start from scratch. Right now I just have the entire Gundam Wing series, and I would like to keep it managable (150-200mb per episode or so). Can anyone give me any suggestion/reccomendations/ideas?

I know some of you have some ink. Post it!

I know Woody's got the FA symbol going on, and I'm thinking about getting one on my calf. Either that, or my SSN in barcode form on my arm or something. Either way, it would be my first ink, and something I'm giving serious thought into. Comments? Ideas? Suggestions?

Figured I would make this post since August 1st is right around the corner.

In case you haven't seen it already.

Personally, I'm betting on an MMO.

Holy FACK

It looks like the guys at Valve got a hold of what some of the modders were doing with Prey.

So, due to a combination of depression and lack of employment and lack of romance and lack of joy and a number of different things, life has generally sucked for me for the last year or so.

This however, may change.

I am currently talking to a gentlemen based out of Dallas who works part-time as a geological consultant for Seoul City Gas Corporation. Chairman Kim, their CEO for the last six years, has invested greatly into his employees, numbering seven or eight hundred, based in Seoul, South Korea. One thing that he is particularly passionate about is teaching his employees the english language, and the benefits that pertain to that in our global economy. They have started a small school and have hammered out curriculum, they just need a few more teachers. As of today, I am officially being considered for one of these teaching positions, and could be..

IN FREAKING SEOUL BY THE MIDDLE OF THIS SUMMER!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Year-long contract, salaried, bonus at the end, with apartment, transportation, and food all provided for. :D

So cross your fingers for me and hope that this works out!

Off Topic / See someof Zack's work!
« on: January 22, 2007, 01:45:46 pm »
So I commissioned Zack to do some work for me, and I can say that I am pleased with it in every way possible. Here's the back story:

I have two friends, Tim and Megan. Both just as big Star Wars nerds as I am and who have recently (end of last year) became a couple. He has lots of memorabilia and she has even written a good deal of her own fan fiction. As as result, they both (as I have) developed their own persona's within the Star Wars universe. Ker (Tim) based only slightly on the character Kir Kanos (go check out wookiepedia for him), and Atharyne A.K.A. "Boots" (Megan), a creation of her own imagination.

I started with a description of each of them (the real thing), followed by a description of each of their persona's.

Here are Tim and Megan over at my house for dinner. (I cooked Tempura!)

If you can't guess who is who, go check your pants, then get professional help.

Zack started with Tim. During the whole process we we're in constant communication. We talked at least once a day on the phone whenever he had an update for me.

Sketch 1 (Note: these are after several thorough exploratory sketches on his part, me critiquing each and every to an exact detail.)

The Final Product (Sent to me at 600 dpi)

Second we did Megan, not as many on this one.

I am extremely happy with all the work he has done, and am already planning future work for him. :D I would eagerly recommend his skills to anyone who could put them to use! Also, because he sent them at such a good quality, I was able to drag them down to the printers and have awesome 11" x 17" prints of each done! Great work Zack!
