General / Two interviews Wednesday
« on: November 28, 2009, 10:52:29 pm »
I normally wouldn't post another thread about this, but, because I haven't seen a soul on Teamspeak other than Tbone and I in the past three weeks (save a few random people thrown in), I'm imploring our European folk and anyone else available to come on for the TWO INTERVIEWS we have this Wednesday at 4pm FA time. That's 10pm for you Brits.

I know that most of our normal members won't be able to make it due to it being so early in the day. That's fine. I completely understand. But, if your at your computer on Wednesday at the scheduled time of our interviews, please, please, please come. Hell, if you just come on to listen and can't talk, that's fine. I don't even care if you're not going to be playing APB; it'd still be great to have you at the interview. I just need people there.

Any Captain-in-training's (or Captain) that are there at the interview get first dibs on recruiting to their Crew so that they can fill their crew and be the first to get access to our second APB Beta account! (If Tbone rules against this, I'll understand)

We need the beginnings of a solid, European base. Our current EU members are Nocry, Subb, Demi, Zortarg, and External (my apologies if I missed anyone, it's hard for me to remember where everyone lives). Our two new applicants will be playing in those timezones a majority of the time, so it would be great if we could get a few more in and on Teamspeak.

Confirmed to come:

News and Announcements / SWTOR: TESTING BEGINNING!!!!
« on: September 29, 2009, 09:34:25 am »
The site is down because of the overwhelming response already.

Quote
We are excited to announce that we are now collecting information for those interested in applying for the opportunity to test Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. Our goal is to get feedback to help us make the best game that we can.

We will be selecting testers from the Star Wars: The Old Republic community based on various requirements such as systems specifications, age, and region. Because the testing program requires feedback from within the community, you must have an active Star Wars: The Old Republic (“TOR”) community account to participate (no banned accounts). The testing is limited to members who are 18 years of age or older and requires the acceptance of the Game Testing Agreement included in the TOR community sign-up process. Users that meet the requirements of the test and are selected for inclusion in the test program will be contacted via email (so make sure your email address is up to date!).

Game testing for Star Wars: The Old Republic will be rolled out in several phases over an extended period of time. These test phases will begin with smaller, tightly focused test groups, and later tests will expand.

Want to get your name on the list of potential testers? First, make sure you are a registered member of the Star Wars: The Old Republic community. If you’re not already a member, click here to become one today! Be sure to check the box to indicate you are interested in becoming a tester. If you’re already a member, go to the Game Testing Portal to begin the sign up process.

Please keep in mind that there are no guarantees that you will be selected once you have completed the sign up process. For more information about testing Star Wars: The Old Republic, take time to read the Game Testing FAQ.

We look forward to your help in making Star Wars: The Old Republic a success!

BE SURE TO HAVE AN ACCOUNT REGISTERED IN THE COMMUNITY AS SOON AS THE WEBSITE COMES BACK UP.

General / Gaming Night!
« on: September 24, 2009, 11:08:15 am »
I miss you guys!

So, I'm proposing one night next week we all try to make an effort and get online and into Teamspeak to play some Team Fortress 2 or Counter-Strike:Source.

Since we can never, ever, get people on for a weekend night, I propose we get everyone on next Wednesday, the 30th, later in the evening to have some good old fashioned fragging fun.

What say you?

Off Topic / Back to College!
« on: August 30, 2009, 05:05:34 pm »
Well, I move tomorrow morning back to State, and I'm packing everything up right now (including the computer), so this will be my last message until I get things moved in and situated. That shouldn't take long, hopefully.

The real reason that I'm making this post, though, is to say that I probably won't be as active as I have been recently in the coming weeks as I get adjusted to my new classes/schedule/roommate situation. I have no idea what my roommate will be like, how much he'll be in the room, or how busy I'll be with school and extra curriculars. It's always awkward talking to you guys on TS when another person is in the room because they think I'm talking to them or that it's weird that you're talking to imaginary people/yourself. I also always think it's rude to be sitting on the computer and talking with you guys/playing a game of TF2 or whatever when there's another person in the room. Plus, I want to get out more! haha.

So, yeah. I dunno about my activity. I'll definitely sign on as much as I can, but I can't promise that it'll be the amount that I was on this summer (AKA every night from at least 10-1:30).

Thanks for reading!

General / Darkfall Expansion Notes (Interesting Read!!)
« on: July 06, 2009, 03:00:44 pm »
http://www.darkfallonline.com/expansion/

TLDR:

-PVE Rebalancing
-Crafting costs significantly reduced
-PLAYER HOUSING WHEREVER YOU WANT
-Less naked ganking (weapon rebalance)
-Weather added!
-SKILL AND SPELL BOOKS AND ATTRIBUTE PILLS (Need that 50 Wisdom? Find some of these pills!)
-Easier transportation
-New mount and advanced weapon
-AUTOCRAFTING
-Increased ship speed (no more people catching us on the raft!)
-Mount weight increased (no more killing someone's mount and then spawning four more!)

Overall, I really like the look of this patch, almost enough to actually want to resubscribe to the game.

On the American server: The American server will launch on July 7th. Characters from the European server can be cloned and moved without their possessions 3 months after the American launch. Certain restrictions and charges will apply, to be announced at a later date. In the meanwhile if you want to play on the American server at launch you need to buy the American Darkfall client. More information on the American server will be available in a few days.

Darkfall will launch a massive free expansion update the first week of July, something that the Darkfall team has been working on for a while now. This expansion includes major new features and major content, PvE, and PvP updates.

In the last few patches we had implemented several major optimizations making it possible to support even larger battles and sieges and more concurrent users than ever before. As a result, massive battles now run smoother than ever. We’ve seen some of the largest and the highest frequency of massive battles this past month, which has helped us find even more ways to optimize the Darkfall experience.

As a result of these optimizations we’ve also been able to keep sales open most of the time. We’re still being careful because Darkfall resubscription rates remain very high even though this is a time for exams and/or vacations. It’s still difficult to buy Darkfall but we hope that after the US servers have launched it will be easier for new players to learn about and to buy Darkfall.

To that effect, a new site is coming, along with new forums for Darkfall players only. These forums will be readable by the public and only players with active accounts will be able to post in them. The current public forums will remain active for anyone to post in, but moderation will be stronger. This because we’re getting people from other communities with the sole intention of disrupting our forums. The Darkfall community has always been a source of good feedback, constructive criticism, and inspiration for the Darkfall developers and we'll keep it that way by doing away with the non-constructive elements.

Our next major patch will be included in the Darkfall expansion the first week of July.

Thank you for reading
The Darkfall Team

Clarification: American players wanting to clone and transfer their characters do not have to buy another client. Everyone else needs to buy the American Darkfall client to play on the American server. The European rights and the American rights to Darkfall do not belong to the same company, therefore you cannot freely transfer between the two territories, as is the case with most MMORPGs. Our offer of character cloning / transfer to American players is because we had said that we would try to accommodate them should they want to start playing on the European server.

We need to decide on a female uniform, once and for all!

Now, I know that our faction only has two female RSI's (Anamodiel and Lits), and this topic has been discussed to death, but we need to come to a consensus. Most of the time it was just me online, so whatever I decided was female uniform pretty much was, but, since we have a movie in the pre-production stages (and soon to be in production), I didn't want there to be any debates during prime time shooting sequences about what the female(s) should wear as the uniform.

Take a gander at these dresses. The first two are some old, stock photographs that were taken a few years ago, and the last two are newer ones. They get progressively whiter as you scroll down.

Option 1: The Snakeskin (minus the black gloves)

Option 2: The Vinyl

Option 3: Dressy Top and Formal Skirt

Option 4: Formal Top and Formal Skirt

If you find some other clothing options you'd like us to try, please, feel free to post them. These are the ones that I've narrowed down to liking the most, but if you find some other white clothing that you feel matches the FA persona well, I'd be more than happy to model the clothes in-game and post the pictures...

Off Topic / FA Get Together 2009 - July 31st
« on: May 29, 2009, 06:54:00 pm »
We've been talking about it for a while now; the ramblings in Teamspeak, the talk of how long drives would be for certain people, how much fun it would be to meet Anamodiel (haha, kidding), and the idea of Broin attending the get together or not.

Well, a bit of inspiration popped into my head not even ten minutes ago, and I felt compelled to finally make a thread on this because I honestly think that this is the best idea in the world. No, getting together is not the best idea that I've ever had, but the best idea I've ever had involves the perfect date to have the get together:

July 31st.

The day the Matrix Online shuts down for good. We were some of the most hardcore, most well known people in the game. We met each other through it, and, because of it, the Furious Angels has grown into a second family for many people thanks to the Matrix Online. We all hold it in a special place in our hearts (some in different spots than others), but we can all agree that the game had an impact on many of us. What better way to send the game off then for some of us to be together in the Real?

Sure, being together in Teamspeak would be fun, but some of us being together in the Real would really, truly make it feel special.

The best part?

July 31st is a Friday. We would all meet in DC on Thursday night or Friday morning/afternoon and play the Matrix until it meatwads us one last time at midnight Megacity Time. It would only be a day of work off for most people, and flights to D.C. from many different areas is pretty cheap right now from what I've been told. As well, I know quite a few people live in the Midwest, and we could meet up somewhere and drive over from there to save money on gasoline and airfare. Plus, we could bring our own computers/laptops!

Discuss?

RE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MATRIX ONLINE – THE MATRIX ONLINE SERVICE WILL END ON JULY 31, 2009

Dear MxO Subscriber,

We want to inform you that on June 1, 2009, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) will suspend commercial services of THE MATRIX ONLINE (MxO). However, SOE will continue to operate the game service and players will still be able to play MxO through July 31, 2009.

As of June 1, 2009, SOE will no longer offer customer support or provide updates for MxO, and active subscribers with accounts in good standing will not be billed after that date.  MxO subscribers who have prepaid subscription time that extends their subscription period past June 1, 2009 will receive a pro-rated refund for any such pre-paid excess subscription payments*. Such refunds are expected to be issued by October 1, 2009.

We welcome those active MxO subscribers in good standing to play one or all of the following SOE massively-multiplayer online PC games at full paid subscriber status at no cost between June 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009 (subject to the terms and conditions described below) using the same Station Account you use to subscribe to MxO**:  Free Realms™, EverQuest®, EverQuest® II, and Star Wars Galaxies™.  To access and download the game software for EverQuest, EverQuest II, or Star Wars Galaxies, begin by downloading Station Launcher here for free: http://launcher.station.sony.com/.  To initiate the download of Station Launcher simply click on the "DOWNLOAD BETA" button. Once the download is complete, Station Launcher will serve as your one stop shop for access to all the identified online games except Free Realms, which can be found at www.freerealms.com.

We value having you in our player community and hope that you will find a new home in one of these other SOE games during this trial period.

During the last two weeks that MxO will be available, we intend to initiate a world-ending event and invite our active MxO subscribers with accounts in good standing to participate in bringing Mega City down together.  We will go out with the same level of dramatic in-game event that has kept this game exciting over the years.  Get ready to jack in and become part of the final chapter of the story!

We appreciate your loyalty and commitment and look forward to seeing you in another SOE game.

Sincerely,
Sony Online Entertainment

*Please log in to your Station Account to update your billing address. If a valid credit card is active on your account, refunds will be applied to such credit card. If your account is paid via SOE Game Card or other retail game time card, we will send a check in the refund amount to your current billing address.

**Offer valid between June 1, 2009 and July 31, 2009.
If, as of June 1, 2009, you are not already a subscriber to Station Access, EverQuest, EverQuest II or Star Wars Galaxies or have a paid membership to Free Realms, this offer will provide you with access to the current retail versions of EverQuest® Seeds of Destruction™, EverQuest® II The Shadow Odyssey, Star Wars Galaxies™: Complete Online Adventures, and full membership status to Free Realms (greater access than the current trial versions of such games and non-membership status to Free Realms ) through July 31, 2009.

If, as of June 1, 2009, you have an active Station Access subscription or subscription in good standing to one or more of these games, but have not purchased the game software for EverQuest® Seeds of Destruction™, EverQuest® II The Shadow Odyssey, or Star Wars Galaxies™ Complete Online Adventures, this offer will provide you with the opportunity to experience these games until July 31, 2009. With respect to Free Realms, if you do not have a Station Access subscription or full membership to Free Realms as of June 1, 2009, you can experience full membership status through July 31, 2009.

The playtime described above cannot be used as a credit toward any subscription or membership, including a Station Access subscription. To play any of the SOE games listed above, you must register for or have a Station Account. During this period of gameplay, your game access to these games will be equivalent to a full, paid subscription (as compared to standard trial access or restricted account) and in the case of Free Realms, access will be full membership status; provided, however, that you must agree to and comply with each game's user agreement, terms of service and rules of conduct. Failure to comply with all applicable game rules may result in the suspension or termination of your access to these games. If you activate a fully-paid subscription or membership (as applicable), you will lose the balance of any unused trial period game time and additional, recurring subscription/membership fees will apply. In addition, if you convert a trial account into an active subscription/membership, you will not be entitled to any game time that may be included with the purchase of certain versions of, or other offers related to, such game(s). Game subscriptions and memberships are non-transferable and have no cash value.

Mark your calendars, guys. July 31st we should all show up for the final showdown...

General / Farming Runs
« on: May 11, 2009, 01:14:21 pm »
With all of the focus on hunting and the politics and the Vindicator runs (and I hate to take away from that because it's so much more fun), I think we've slightly neglected our Vaults. More specifically, I, and I know that others are, in need of Gold, Leather, and Cloth.

I say we go and farm some good, old fashioned Beastmen or Raptors late this evening or sometime this week.

Anyone up for this?
