ok, a few things

there are 2 places to enter your sig. one is in residual self-image on the top left-hand module. the other is in the profile link at the top of the page. these need to be identical

next, make sure the code is right, which it looks like it is. what i see right now should be ALL that is in the sig box, nothing more. you may have to look at your settings (in your profile) and make sure that bbcode is enabled

whatever is in your Signature box in your residentual image section, get rid of it. Leave the Signature box in the Residental Image section blank. Only put the link of your signature in the profile section. thats how i have mine setup. i think if u have both links in both sections, they might contradict one another and then none of them work. So only leave the link of your signature in your Profile section, which the link to your profile section is above the forums. Let me know if this works.

here's an ex of mine:

ignore the " " that is before and after the link. those are there just so the image doesnt load.

Yea heres the problem... PHPBB doesn't know that http://www.imagehosting.us/imagehosting/showimg.gif/?id=535993 is an image... its actually a script for the image hosting service.

Your image has to link straight to a gif or jpeg file without the ID stuff...

Change the url to this ---> http://www.sullycentral.net/images/FA/eruption.gif

That should work.

EDIT
If ya wanna leave it on my site, thats fine I don't have a problem hosting it... Tho if you wanna make a change to it you'd have to have me upload it to that directory.  Your best bet would be to move to a different service that gives direct access. (kinda like what grim is using for her desktop thread)

Cool... Photobucket is allowing a direct link... (since your URL is the location of the image).  On your previous site, it was actually linking to a script called showimage.gif then the /?imageid=#### was actually a location in their database.  So doing a link to showimage.gif would do nothing.

Either way you got it working so it doesn't matter anymore :P  I am hereby done rambling...
