Mobile Device Screen Shots
« on: August 29, 2011, 12:28:12 pm »
I have yet to be able to locate information on how to take screenshots (from my mobile) of my devices home screens.  I have an HTC Evo 4G and would like to show off my FA logo wall paper and lock screen.

Any of our techies have any idea how I can do this?

Rooted?
Download ShootMe.

Not Rooter?
Hook up your phone and use DDMS to pull a screenshot.
Read here:http://www.androidcentral.com/taking-screenshots-without-root

Note:
In testing multiple devices, I've come across two that do NOT require root to have ShootMe run. I don't remember which ones they were. It did not work for my EVO before I rooted, but that was a long while ago.
Try ShootMe if you're not rooted. It might work, it might not. /shrug

If you changed the lock screen I'd think you were rooted. Some rom's have the option to turn a screenshot option on when you longpress the lock button (along with reboot into recovery, etc) otherwise I'd agree and grab shootme

No, I am not rooted at all.  I have no clue how to even do that.

Never realized taking a screenshot was such a pain in android.  On vanilla iOS it's just quick tap power and home.  Goes right to your photos.  Easy peasy.
