Support / Embedding Videos on the Forums
« on: November 29, 2006, 03:40:04 pm »
I've turned on the ability to embed video from YouTube and such into forum posts. However there are a few rules that I would like to see respected:

1. No Auto-Play Videos - Some members browse the forums at work, have limited connections, or just might not want to watch a video. No video should play automatically.

2. Only the following HTML tags are permitted:
Code: [Select]
<iframe> <object> <embed> <param> <s>
Sample code should look something like:
Code: [Select]
<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-IGug--fRUQ" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Or
Code: [Select]
<object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="blah"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="blah" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
3. No embedded code should break or make any part of the website nonfunctional - This should be very obvious.

4. Preview your post before submitting - Use the preview button to make sure your HTML works and doesn't break any rules.

Feel free to ask questions.

It's like shiny and I like shiny things.

ooo it has a spell checker and it is telling me I spelled shiny wrong. And then I corrected it like I was in word or something. WOAH FAR OUT.

Support / Post Nuke Update
« on: October 18, 2006, 10:32:46 am »
Well the postnuke update I did last night which I thought would take 5mins ended up causing a slew of forum problems. However they have been resolved and everyone can post as normal.

As always if you experience any new issues from this upgrade post them here or feel free to PM any of the staff.

FOR WALRUS!

How can a short week seem so long?

Cause when you can't do your job and take 10 vacations a year, and 100 sick days working gets hard.

General / Old Images and the Gallery
« on: August 07, 2006, 12:05:21 am »
Ok here is the scoop:

Old images are online in one big ass folder here: http://followtheangel.org/imagedump

I will keep them up til the end of the month so please take some time and filter through them if you want to save your old pictures. Unfortauntly this is the only way they could be saved, sorry. :(

Then take the images you want saved and upload them again in the new gallery install which can be found on the left menu under //matrix_programs -> ./images

Please be aware while the gallery is functional it is not fully skinned or setup. Feel free to make an album to store your pictures. I will work on getting default folders setup later on.

Thanks!

I would suggest that everyone avoid contact with this kid if he attempts to contact you. There is a good possibility he is a spy. Thanks.

Most know I am a big 007 fan so I figured you all should check out the new teaser trailer. Looks like this may be a good one.

New looking glass is out with info on the freeplay and band event info.

Highlights

Given that and some other technical issues we’ve been battling with, we’re going to push the in-game concerts back by one week. The new dates for the Battle of the Bands/Piece of Blue Sky: Reloaded concerts will be Tuesday, May 9 through Monday, May 15, 2006.

The FilePlanet free trial is scheduled to begin the afternoon of Tuesday, May 2, 2006. As announced, free trial players will get a copy of Hyper-Jump Beta when they activate and a copy of Mobius Code when they convert to a paying account.

I’ve seen some comments from veteran players about how we’re making these Abilities less special by adding them to a free trial. Why would we choose to use those Abilities instead of new ones?

The answer is simple: Both Abilities are highly useful at early levels. It’s a great incentive for new players to stick around and really get to know The Matrix Online. However, free trial players will only get one copy of each Ability—not one on each character. We want them to get in and enjoy the game, but we also don’t want to make the vets feel their earned rewards aren’t valuable.

As a new feature tied in to the free trial, we will be implementing a new reward system in The Matrix Online. If you play other SOE games, then likely you’ve encountered a message at some time telling you that you’ve earned a reward and can use /claim to acquire the item. We thought that was a spiffy idea, so we stole, er…added it to the game.

Well, it’s only been three years, but I’m finally going to E3 with The Matrix Online. Better late than never, I guess. We’ll be demoing the game outside the SOE booth in the South Hall. If you happen to be going this year, make sure to stop by and say hi. I’ll say hi back if my voice hasn’t already deteriorated too far to talk. ;)
