You may have noticed that our website has been slow/unstable the last couple of weeks. It's gotten increasingly worse this week.
We think we've found and solved the issue. There was a rogue backup process that required a restart to stop. The website should now be running normally.
If you experience any further disruption or instability, please let us know! Thanks!

Well, apparently whatever was done was not a permanent solution, as we're still having severe stability issues. I'll keep you updated with any information I can find.

The server admin claims he has now fixed it. He said it was an out of control mail/spamassassin process. He's implemented configuration changes to limit mail and spam assassin processes.
So...yeah...cross fingers!
