Title: The Search for Broin
Post by: Adad on February 19, 2007, 01:41:07 pm
I decided to begin a thread dedicated to finding Broin after he teased us with his trip to FL this coming June in the Pictures of you thread.  Anyone is welcome to help with the search as long as we find him...

My first step was doing a google image search of "Broin"

Here are my top results based on the one thing we know about him; elderly:

Mícheál Ó Broin

and finally:

//Lits Database/FA Members opening...

//opening file: Profiles/FA/Broin...
//displaying file...

-he's a male somewhere between the ages of 28 and 45
-he has a family (presumably with small children if he's going to Disney)

+speculation on Broin includes, but is not limited to:+
-placing him in California, western New York state, and Washington D.C, although several ranking members place him in Detroit.
-identifying his occupation as a systems analyst for the Pentagon, member of the CIA, or proffessional assasin associated with the Irish Mafia

These speculations cannot be verified, and therefore must be taken as rumor, or instinctual feeling
No such speculations have been made as far as his name, given or surname.
No such specualtions have been made on his physical appearance.

I'm afraid the only thing about Broin that we can confirm is his love for clandestine activity.

*as a side note, it should be mentioned that on drunken FA nights, it is also speculated that he is the Dark Knight, also known as Batman. No reports can confirm or deny this however.

//closing file...
//goodbye.

Good input so far people, keep on it.  The beginning of my search to gather info from OLD posts only tells me the name Broin was simply chosen as it means Raven.  Also, in July of 2004 his favorite movie of the past month was the Natural... let's keep at it.

As for the WoW lead, I don't know if it is him or not, but there is a Broin in WoW aparantly... http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html;jsessionid=34C11C911A86B874358703E8EBC235DA?topicId=32337247&postId=320884545&sid=1

Broin does in fact have at least one kid.  I once heard Broin poking fun at him over TS.  It was pretty silly.

I propose a game: We try to guess Broin's occupation by only asking him Yes/No questions.  I'll start...

Broin, does your job require you to carry an identification card with your picture on it?

let's get him drunk, then he'll crack.  Otherwise, the girls need to flirt it out of him.

Anyways, more info from his past posts.  After over an hour of reading his old posts, I am halfway through the  (July 26, 2004 - Oct. 12, 2005) of them and here's all I got:

-Writing is or was a hobby of his
-he likes to tell people that he doesn't know about them and what they do or say is "just no right"
-he often liked to say "rock on" and/or "Rock n Roll"
-he likes to use the smiley face   :D
-Morpheus contacting him on launch almost made him soil himself
-He prefers HoneyOat Nut Bread to white or wheat; also likes banana bread, chocolate, and gyros
-he likes to tell people they've "just been stunned, dev. fielded, pacified, blinded, disarmed, despoiled, bottlenecked, and code nuked biotch"
-Also, there is a delightful post about how Anamodiel better be a hot chick if "she's" going to get in...hahahaha

more to come

He will be found.

Based on my personal experiences in traveling to the Magical Kingdom, I'm limiting the states Broin is from to the following.

Delaware
Maryland
Virginia
West Virginia
Southern Ohio
Kentucky
Southern Indiana
Southern Illinois
Eastern Missouri
Arkansas
Eastern Texas
Louisiana
Mississippi
Alabama
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
North Carolina
Tennessee

I know this contradicts the Detroit, MI theory, but it's just too far for a family to travel in one day without major headaches. This all of course assumes they drive.

Also, there are bottlenecks at Disney world, mainly, the front gate to each park, which funnels the crowds into lines. There are only 10 or so gates at the smaller parks and 20-30 at the MK. If Broin does not divulge anymore of his itinerary, I suggest that a group of us go, and man the MK gates from the 2nd through the 12th for a few hours each morning. That should give us a good chance of spotting him. Would take about 10 guys.

Hm...ok, we may need to station 2 men on the boats, but I'm thinkin' he just said that to throw us off.  Also, Destyn, I have a real plan conjured up, this is just for Broin to think he can evade us.

However, the way I see it, if a huge group of angels actually makes the effort to go all the way to Disneyworld in hopes to meet Broin and to hang out together once, and Broin STILL tries to dodge us... does he really belong in FA??  Either way, to him I say, dodge this!

Broin is thinking of this gate.
http://www.google.com/maps?q=Orlando,+FL&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=19&ll=28.404705,-81.580205&spn=0.001272,0.00339&t=k&iwloc=addr

I'm not talking about the ticket gate, I'm talking about the MK park gate. There are two sides, about 10 gates each with special areas for people in wheelchairs or people with strollers.
http://www.google.com/maps?q=Orlando,+FL&ie=UTF8&z=19&ll=28.416034,-81.581085&spn=0.001272,0.00339&t=k&om=1

The reason it makes more sense to patrol this one is two fold:
-The Magical Kingdom is a main attraction at Disney, thus there is a high probability that Broin will take his family there.
-Because it is the only public entrance to park, even if Broin takes the boats or stays in one of the themed hotels, he will still have to be "processed" like everyone else.

Figure out how young his child is/children are... if they're under the age of 9ish sometime every day they WILL be in line for Dumbo, Teacups, and/or Small World. They'll have to go there at least once every day, possibly multiple times. Stake those out and you're made.

That Dane Cook is a silly bitch.  Saw him live in Miami last year.  Sat about 7 rows back.

Broin, give us a narrower range of dates.  Or are you actually going to be at Disney for 10 days?  And if so, you've got a very good paying job.  For Florida residents, I know it's like $40 a day, and that's just entrance into the park.  If you're from out of state, which I believe you are, it's going to cost you like $80 a day.. Not including the cost of a hotel room, and food, and everything else.

You must work for the government....

Post by: Adad on February 25, 2007, 12:25:48 pm
Alright, everyone crashes at Jeyk's or turret's and we all take one big car to and from the park.  Perhaps the last day there, we will actually all go in and have fun, but I say the other days, we just get hammered together in trashy Downtown Orlando.

As for Lithium's point, perhaps we all dress in regular attire, maybe with walkie talkies or just constant cell phone use.  Thus making us less suspicious and harder for Broin to avoid.

He will be found.

Yeah, I wasn't speaking of costs for us.  I meant costs for Broin, and family.  I really wish he would give us a narrower range of dates, though. :( I doubt I'll be able to get 10 days off from work to go and stand outside the Disney gates. LoL.

As I'm reading all of this I can't help but think of what Broin is telling his family right now in preparation of being found at Disneyworld...

Okay Hun, not to alarm you but a bunch of wild-eyed adolescents may or may not come screaming hysterically towards us at any given moment for the next 10 days; don't worry it'll only be awkward for the first half-hour.  And kids I know this may sound strange but if you see daddy carried off by this same gang of crazy misfits just know that I love you and I will miss you very much, oh and your mother knows where we keep your college funds...

You may all want to consider this as well.
All of the main parks (Animal, MK, MGM, Epcot) can each be seen in a day's worth of time. Add in a water park and that's 5 days worth of attractions. Which means 1 of 2 things.
1. Broin's kids can't last a whole day
2. They're going to be spending time outside the Disney canon during their 10 day visit.
or perhaps a bit of both.
Title: The Search for Broin

Okay hope you all don't waste your time down there at the wrong time... I just found out that the time period that I was planning on taking the family and kids down there is the same time that GAY DAYS goes on at Disney.

No offense to any of you out there that might like the same sex but... Yeah I hear its a raunch fest and I'm going with kids that shouldn't have to be exposed to those kinds of things and questions until I decide they should.

Needless to say when I found out I was PISSED!  I had asked Disney specifically about this and they refused to tell me if it was going on.  I told them originally that if it was going on when I got down there and they hadn't told me that I would not be a happy camper.

I called them today to remind them of that conversation.... Let us just say that they did not like my conversation.  Basically by the time I was done the girl on the phone was in tears and her supervisor was in tears as well.   So Broin is rescheduling his Disney vacation to another time so please don't be looking for me during the previous mentioned time.  Sorry guys.

No, he's right.  For many years now Gay Day at Disney has been a tradition, designed originally to show old Walt what we thought of his Epcot utopia and his distinctly homophobic views.  It's no Fire Island, it's just all the local queens showing up to take over the theme park for the day.  Not one for the kiddies :D
Title: The Search for Broin
Post by: Heironymus on March 28, 2007, 03:29:25 pm
Technically speaking.. I don't think it is something Disney employees are allowed to confirm whether that is the intended date.. for that matter.. I don't think Disney even knows when it is happening until it almost is there... Its the same way at Six Flags Theme park in Georgia..
Title: The Search for Broin
Post by: Adad on March 28, 2007, 04:37:38 pm
Clearly, Broin invented Gay Day as an excuse to make us THINK he isn't going to be there then....it's all coming together

I remember one year when my family was up in Orlando on vacation.  We did Universal, and we were going to do Disney too, but it ended up being the Gay Weekend, so we ended up not going to Disney.  Sucks that they have to do that and ruin a fun weekend for kids. :( I was like 12.  I was pretty disappointed.

Eh, but when you are there for the once-a-year family vacation, it's kinda disappointing.  Especially when you don't know that it's the weekend you're going to be there.  My parents had no idea.  Just woke up Saturday morning in the hotel, turned on the news, and it was all over the news.  Once you're there, it's kinda hard to cancel and plan for a trip another time.  Broin got lucky that he found out ahead of time.

In that case, Ana, have you considered enrolling as a dual major or taking up an additional minor in Criminal Justice?  You should be able to contact FBI recruitment to see what you need to do to pursue a position with them in the future.  Also, see if your institution offers online courses - it may prove to be a convenient way to handle the extra workload.

Maybe Trinity is right... I'm looking for him. And when he finds me, he'll tell me I wasn't really looking for him.

.......Broin...... Broin... is Morpheus.

It all makes perfect sense.  How did we not see it before?

Credit to Anamodiel.

Don't ask us of our methods; we simply hacked into Broin's computer via a Russian node that had already penetrated his personal computer in his basement.

OK, false alarm, it is not Broin, but I would like to know who that is.  Somehow he is linked to pics on our forum on imageshack.  Anyways, Broin is more mysterious than I thought.

He will be found.
The search continues...

I tried playing with the "ronyammiza" anagram some more during my Italian class and came up with "MA Zion Army", "Mazion Army", "MO Nazi Army". Google searches reveal nothing.

I really feel like this is the key to everything. Anyone know any foreign languages, like Arabic, Chine or Korean? Maybe "ronyammiza" is the phonetic of a word in one of those languages which will give up Broin's secret.

This thread always make me smile, though. I really do want to work for the CIA...

I think it's hilarious that I started this thread almost 4 years ago and we're no closer to finding him than we were day one.

What may also work is using Lits to get the information out of Tbone...As your captain Lits, I authorize you to use any means necessary...on either one of them.

I have already spoken to Broin on several occassions, his welcome-ness to reveal himself to me. And to his credit he made a valiant effort that I (unfortunately) could not at the time meet him halfway.

HOWEVER:
I am formally and publicly reitterating my offer for Broin to visit California, stay for free at my place, and use my car at his will, and will even feed him a home cooked meal for free as long as he stays!!

And as soon as possibly mid-January I can wrangle enough time off to come visit him (YOU, Broin) or Tbone (should Broin want to meet me there).

I do believe we can count a Tbone's visit as a confirmed siting. We now know Broin has been to the DC metropolitan area. That severely limits the chances of him being southern.

I told you Lits, you aren't the one that can make him show himself again. At least it isn't 100%.

I know I'm not super huge, infamous, mega-active Furious Angels member, but I'm in Cali. And if the Angels meet up anywhere in this state I'll do everything I can to hang out and meet everyone. If I'm invited that is :P

I live near Six Flags Magic Mountain, Angels amusement park field trip? F10x works there lol. Free tickets!

Bump for posterity's sake.

I have new theories, but I think they're too right to post here. Ronya Miza still has me confused as ever.
