Yeah thats super sucky, I had a rebooting/ip drop issue, bue the firmware upgrade took care of it, something about the overhead never matching the setting that the router said it was set at. *shrugs*

Well, Styan told me to check into AOL DSL's MTU number, as that caused him problems once. Turns out AOL's max MTU is 1400 and mine was set to 1492 by default. I've changed the number to 1400, so now it's time to wait and see if it works!

If it continues to give you trouble, you might try posting over at DSLReports. http://www.dslreports.com/ and see if anyone there can help.

Bad news. I was playing MxO and downloading and the connection dropped again. I was able to get it working again after a minute by restarting my own connection (though it seems to be a bit slower). All 3 times it has dropped since the firmware switch has been while playing MxO.

Ok, now I don't know what the hell is going on. I've spent the last three hours fixing my network. It disconnected while I was gone and wouldn't come back, so I took away the router and it STILL didn't work. Tried to refresh modem - nothing. Finally had to call Bellsouth. They had to get a cord specialist to check the connection. They did something to it and it finally connected back to the internet. Then I had to spend another hour trying to get my router to work with the connection again. I had given up to the point of simply unplugging and replugging over and over. Finally it just worked. Arg!!

So they did something to the line, interesting... last night when you said it dropped the connection, you said you could still access the router right, but no net, (and this included the PCs that were connected wired as well??) so that wehn you went to the router and looked and it said "Internet: Disconnected" or whatever... What that means to me is that the modem is dropping the connection, and your router just isnt reconnecting to it... hence why you have to reboot the router... for it to re-initialize the connection with the modem.

Thats just another pain in the ass tho cause it would mean getting the modem replaced as it may be deffective, and when its not your service... well yeah you get the idea.
