Non-VR Games / Things you have accomplished while waiting in queue.
« on: December 17, 2011, 03:21:43 pm »
I started out as 554 in line today and decided to do things to pass the time.

What I accomplished this time:
Started a load of laundry
Paid my bills.
Read up on the disaster of SOPA

What kind of productive things have you accomplished?

It is launch week, the population will go down. Do you remember when MxO first started and it had like a couple dozen servers and then went down to 9 not very long after? That is what the queue is there for, to make sure that doesn't happen. It allows people to wait to get on a server instead of telling them it is full and to move on to a different one and spreading it too thin.

General / Amazon Pre-Orders: No Release Date Delivery Option
« on: December 17, 2011, 12:36:17 am »
Mine arrived this morning, I decided to downgrade to a standard edition. This lead to a disappointing unboxing when there wasn't a manual to thumb through and I already had it installed so I didn't need the disc. I just got a piece of paper with a number on it :(

Not to be a downer, but it is extremely difficult to read this from my perspective. I really wanted to be there for the world boss, and I fear that because of staggering, I'm going to miss out on a lot.

Have fun out there, and don't forget about those who are still waiting. It's very lonely over here.

I just logged out. We have 49 members in game, 19 of those are lvl 10 or under. I don't know the exact number but I think 49 is less than half of our total members. If you get in tomorrow and play all day you will end up being ahead of a large percentage of people in the guild. So you aren't missing out on much.

I know that I played about half of the day and I won't be playing for the next two days. You will most likely pass me. It will all work out so don't stress.

I really don't understand their logic, here.

Take away their color differences - thanks to the Color Match system - and you are left with a game that feels a bit less rewarding; where, sometimes, putting on your exciting new gear barely changes the appearance of the character.

Do they not understand that we are NOT enthused by color changes?  Particularly if said color change is for the worse?  I love getting items with higher stats, and if it looks the same, I'm a-ok with that.  And it seems the majority of the fanbase shares this feeling.  Why is removing this feature a good thing?

What if you didn't like the look of the original item you had? I understand where they are coming from, if I had the same looking items for 30 levels, that would be really boring.

Just wondering what the reasoning for picking a east coast server was? Just curious.

News and Announcements / Urgent! Initial Launch Supply of SWTOR Is Limited

I came up with a solution to this problem. Rename a program as SWTOR, then when you play SWTOR run the program so it keeps steam saying you're in the game.

I don't think that allows you to use the overlay does it? The overlay is the reason why you would want to use it with steam.

No that's standard in all games with a launcher (mostly MMOs). The launcher closes when the game opens. It's the beta client, so I don't think EA has touched it yet.

Yeah but there are several games I have that steam will work if the game has a launcher. It for sure works with wow.

General / RP-PvP Community Drama
« on: November 29, 2011, 12:50:53 am »
I skimmed over that thread and from what I am seeing here we should just not be involved with that group of people if it is already drama.

Also like I said at the last meeting (I think?) where we were talking about server choice, I am in the middle on the choice of pvp or rp-pvp. With this it does make me want to lean towards pvp because I don't think we should be involved in any council type situation or on a server that has a council we are not part of.

I didn't really feel challenged at all.  Especially when I got my first companion, then I was taking out mobs at lightning speed.

I actually felt like I was too weak playing as a smuggler until I got a companion and then wiped everyone out. Of course I played a couple months ago so things are balanced and mob density is more balanced as well, im assuming.
