It's been like that for a few weeks now.

Pisses me off that they'll open up EQII as a free-to-play title, but wouldn't do the same for MxO.

There are two versions, one of which is being developed by TasteeWheat (linked), and the other is being developed by some Russian asshole.  Not that I have anything against Russians, but this guy really is an asshole.  Much of the community is keeping an eye on both versions.  I'm favoring TasteeWheat's version simply because he gets shit done without an attitude.

Both versions are in limbo at this point.  TasteeWheat was making leaps and bounds in development until real life duties finally caught up with him.  He's since put feature development on hold until he can improve server stability.

Both versions are essentially Matrix-themed chat rooms.  There's not much to do except chat and wander the city.
