Searchable Database
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:13:02 pm »
I've finished superimposing my clothing archive over the master list, which is in .csv format. I need someone who can turn this into an user friendly online database.

The Idea:
Combine all the best parts of the mxo clothing project, mxo resource and my previous format.

Basically make the master list of clothing searchable with the ability for me and any other people in the faction to go in and add a tag to any piece which we have decompiled.

Example:
Someone searches for pants between level 30 and 40 with ballistic damage bonus

Enhanced Moss Derin Sheen Pants (pictures could be added later)
Buff 1
Buff 2
Buff 3 etc
Cost
Frag

Who can code this?
Vector-Hostile.broin, Vector-Hostile.da6onet, Recursion.xbroinx, Recursion.xda6onetx

So who can help me?
If all the world's problems were solved today, what would you have left to do tomorrow?

NEED NEW SIGNATURE, CAN PAY IN THE FORM OF BEER!!!

I actually started some in php a long time ago for this purpose. Unfortunately I didn't get far, due to time, and other stuff. I think it got to the point where I could add items to a database... none of the searching was anywhere near to being in it. School is ending in a few weeks I can always look at it again and/or give someone what little crap I have, heh.

Don't believe everything you think.

I think you should check with Styan, he may be able to help with that.

It's too bad Fallout2man isn't still in the faction. He literally worked on PHP and MySQL as a job.

He did some pretty amazing things helping me generate a database of searchable entries for my archived movie and music collection, where the search results had links to the files locally on my computer so that one could stream them if they so chose (And had a fast enough connection). Also, he wrote a script that would scan a file or directory (And directories/files beneath it) and break up the directory names/filenames/text within the files to be organized by year it was released, title, which company produced it, etc.

It was a rather nice piece of work. I'll see about shooting him a call.
