Title: No Joint Server
Post by: Anonymous on May 05, 2004, 05:55:49 am
This is directly from the FAQ at www.thematrixonline.com

Will I be able to play if I live outside of North America?
The Matrix Online will be an international game, with dedicated servers for players living in different regions around the world (including North America and other regions to be announced later). The timeframe for worldwide release is not yet set.

Looks like were gonna have to create 3 factions one on european one in Na and mayb one for Far east

If the servers split us, I would rather play on an american server...

If that is the case, then the Furious Angels will be a presense on all the servers! (or most of them, anyways). We can still stay together by trading information (after all, that is the most important thing in the Matrix, right?)

Yeah, it has its benifits and its drawbacks, but i think we mayb able to play on the same server on other games ive played u can, but was usualyl added in future updates, if the servers are the same, and not shaped by the players, meaning they have the same story line, they most likly the best spots for gathering information will be in the same places, unless they are random.

Should we start recuriting for both servers, jst so people know that we will be active on both servers.

Well, I am not going on a european server! I am going all the way with the american one! I mean, no offence to the other europeans, but I am no good with languages and so would be hopeless unless I am speaking to another of my fellow brits.

Most people who play online games with english people do mostly speak english i mean i was talking with triplex the other day and his english was better than mine and hes from russia, there is no problem with the language barrier. most europeans know english it has been a part of their life since they were small, music tv games etc

If your from europe will you even have the choice to join the american one, my guess is no because they want to minimize lag.  :?

you will be able to connect to a american server even if ur not from america im pretty sure... its just the fact that u wont benefit from it as much as those from america in that server would.... even though they said that interlock wouldn't be hindered by lag so thats one thing out of the way when thinking about which server your going in

If we split up onto like 3 different servers, what will happen about the ventrillo server. It would get really confusing if a group on one server is running a mission at the same time as someone on another server. Would we just get more Ventrillo servers?

no, ventrilo is broken into groups, there would be no effect at all.
