Lost Piece of FA Literature (help?)
« on: March 03, 2011, 11:55:11 pm »
I am looking for a piece I wrote back in our MxO days.  GrimKitten was a Captain and the story I am looking for was about the entire ships crew.  I imagine that the story is now under the name "guest".

I would appreciate it greatly if anyone is able to dig up this story.

What was it called? Any specific names you used you can search for that wouldn't be anywhere else?

I can try searching under Carpe Diem.
What was the name of that club that was in the highrise in the downtown district?  That is where the story took place.

Every club in Downtown was in a skyscraper, requiring the use of an elevator.

The piece took place in Club Paradise Lost.  Thanks both to Fuse and ManicVelocity for prompting my memory.

I think the piece I'm referring to was part of a much larger RP story that multiple Carpe Diem members contributed to.  ......I think.  If so, I haven't yet been able to locate my contribution.

If it was in the hovercraft forums it would be archived. Only me, Tbone, or Brion could locate it. I'm out of town so it'd be difficult for me to search for from my phone.

Ahhhhh......

That would explain why it cannot be located.

I did a quick search through the archives. I found a thread that *might* be related to your search. Here is a synopsis. The problem is the actual story is not posted just people claiming sections to write.

Quote
The story:
Okay, the way the story is set up is as if you are tapping into a Machine database and accessing my memories, both from within and outside of the Matrix (the explanation will come later in the story). That's all the code you see at the beginning of each chapter: it's as if you are browsing through my brain and choosing a specific point in time to look back on. These are, however, only conscious memories, so anything that I wouldn't remember isn't included. There are large gaps where there are no memories, which is due to me having nothing to write about during those times (between August and November: didn't have a good computer or access to beta; between November and January: not a whole lot to say; between March and May: a lot of shit hit the fan and I'm not sure whether or not I'm going to write about those events).

Here are the chapters and (generally) what they are about:

001: Solving the FA challenge - Screem
002: The freeing of my mind - ManicVelocity
003: First glipse of the real world - ManicVelocity
004: Waking up in Zion - Appolithenes
005: Explanation of the Matrix - Appolithenes
006: Dangerous experience - Altab
007: Introduction to FA - Likwidneo
008: Can't jack in - Likwidneo
009: New equipment arrives - Altab
010: Training - KaydaNocturnum
011: Zionist Mixer (1) - KaydaNocturnum
012: Zionist Mixer (2) - Phienyx
013: Captainship - TheMagicKiwi
014: Character wipe (beta) - Phienyx
015: Dark dream - Screem
016: Wedding - TheMagicKiwi
017: Character wipe (live) - Fallout2man
018: Body count - Sared
019: Back to Zion - Sared
020: Constructs - Fallout2man

I will be adding your guys' names next to each chapter and highlighting them in green as you are assigned to them, and then un-bolding them once I get them back, just to keep track.

So there you have it! Have fun!!

It might be a difficult and time consuming process but you can maybe convince Tbone to start releasing some of the 'unclassified' archive topics. :)
