Title: Help with VR Awards!
Post by: Tbone on July 17, 2014, 03:38:24 pm
This is very cool. I just got a PM from Sandra at http://www.virtualrealityreviewer.com (http://www.virtualrealityreviewer.com) . Her site along with RiftMax is going to be hosting VR Awards for the community! She says she reached out to me because "you are one of the leading VR community members and hold quite a lot of respect on forums such as Reddit, and the Oculus developer forums." Spreading the good word has paid off!

Anyway, she wants me to be on the judging panel! This will really give me a chance to put my new rig and the DK2 through the ropes! Again I encourage everyone to get involved in the community even if you don't have a Rift coming yet! And for those of you who do have a Rift coming (Zero, likwid, anyone else?), help me go through a bunch of demos to choose favorites for each category!

The details are still being ironed out, but I figured this could be a fun group project for those of us with developer kits!

I believe the award ceremony itself will be in November, so plenty of time!

I got a peek at the announcement. They have a cool "in association with" section that lists FA! :D

Does this apply to the first Rift?

Possibly, depending on how many people leave DK1 versions of the demos/games available.

That's pretty cool.  I need to get one but I think I'm gonna have to wait for the consumer version.  This damn old farm house is nickel and dining me to freak in death.  I now think we will have to rewire everything

Damaged wire? Gauge can't handle the current? Circuit breakers popping? Just being nosey.
