****** **** **** **** ********!!!!!

Somebody sounds angry.

Fuckin bullshit ticket for coming to a rolling stop and magically my tag doesn't even exist in the database even though I know I paid for it recently so suddenly I have three fucking violations even though my friend's car was stolen and burnt and nothing was done about that.
-
WTS working database, PST with offer
-
Er... anything I can do?
-
Ahh the rolling stop. You poor thing. The cop must have really had to fill his quota if he was watching for that sort of thing. I'm sorry. :(
-
I got pulled over the other day because my rear license plate light was out. :(
-
In retrospect, I didn't even run a stop sign. I was pulling out of a driveway from the intern house and I'm pretty sure there's no sign. I'll have to go double check. I was so concerned about the registration and the fact that I had been drinking a bit earlier in the night, it didn't even occur to me.
-
I just got out of driver's ed, and I got yelled at for doing the same thing you did by my instructor. Even if there is no sign, you're technically supposed to stop if you're coming from a parking lot on to a street like that.
-
Screw that, its a yield when there is no sign. :P
-
My parents are police officers and this is what they and I suggest.
Call the officer. Ask him for the specific traffic law you broke because there was actually no street sign indicating an exact law. AKA no stop or yeild signs or light. Go there also and take picture of the location using an actual camera. Digital cameras arn't normally prefered.
If he can actually tell you the specific law note it so when you go to court you can tell the judge you didn't violate it.
Secondly, find proof that you paid for your tag.. just because they screwed up it isn't your fault. Make sure you have this proof... take you thirty minutes to get this together and make the phone call...
and then another thirty in court and save you lots of money. Enjoy boss.

Nice, good stuff.

Well, I'm pretty sure I can get rid of the registration trouble, but I talked to an intern today and apparently there is a small stop sign there. Meh...
-
will we be seeing you on COPS next week shirtless and agitated :).... *grabs popcorn*

Shotgun frenzy time? :D

hehe.. again ;)
We pretty much don't have stop signs in the UK... all are "Give Way", in the shape of a yield. We are taught that on an "open" junction (where you can clearly see traffic at the junction both ways), you can do a rolling stop (heck, you don't even have to be rolling... as long as you have contol).
Anyhoo, yeah if there is a stop then don't argue that, no point. Best to give my open junction note, and indicate that you could clearly see no peds, or traffic, but admit that you shouldn't have done that just because it seemed safe to do so.
Waste of time tho, the cop was obviously bored.... or pissed...
-
I agree stop signs are stupid. Lets come to a full and complete stop and hinder traffic flow! I like that term "Give Way!" I vote for Give Way's!
-
apparently there is a small stop sign there. Meh...
a SMALL stop sign? Did it come in a different color too? ;)
-
I haven't checked yet...

Another note... if you annoy him enough about it and recommend a few hours of community service instead of court punishment he may let it go just on the fact that you are willing to help out... plus giving up a few hours community service in leu of court decision keeps it off your record and insurance.. if it never makes it to court you don't get charged.
