Dunno, only got it to load once and I loaded the home page directly.

They didn't load balance their servers correctly and they didn't make a session based system for people to get thru on (essentially a queue)...

Had the password problem and it took 1 hour to get that changed

on the billing part and have been on it for 2 hours with no luck at updating the billing information. I have literally entered in the billing information... now 47 times and it just clocks for a minute and then goes to a white screen.

"Darkfall Client Download Page

The Darkfall Client Download will be available on Saturday February 21st at this location.

This will be a torrent and will consist of an installer and Darkfall data files. This will give you plenty of time to download and install Darkfall before you can play on the launch date: February 25th.

If you are not a Darkfall beta tester and do not have a Darkfall beta installation, you have to download both the installer and the date files. The size of the download is approximately 9GB. After everything is installed you will need to receive a small patch to upgrade to the Darkfall launch version before you can enter the game.

If you are a Darkfall beta tester and have a beta installation, you just need to download the installer (approximately 50MB) and take the latest patch to upgrade to the Darkfall launch version.

Torrent Download Instructions

For those who don't know what to do with a torrent file here are some instructions so as to be ready to receive the files:

Step1: Get a BitTorrent client. For example uTorrent http://www.utorrent.com/

Step2: After installing the BitTorrent client, click the torrent link that will be posted here to download the torrent file.

Step3: Double-click on the torrent file to open it in your BitTorrent client program.

I really hope they post the exact hour the server is going up, because I'm scheduled to work Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, so the chances of me being around when they go live are pretty slim. If I can find out ahead of time, though, I can try to switch my schedule around.

Tasos:
It was just confirmed to us that a large network provider in the US is facing a serious network issue and this is affecting an account management service we're using. As a result account creation and pre-ordering are timing out.

We finished with the upgrades to our webservers 5 hours ago and we've been handling the load with no problems, but there are problems communicating with our account management service due to the ISP issues mentioned above. We left the service running for them to be able to troubleshoot the problem. A small percentage of the requests are getting through but most are timing out. Now that the issue has been pinpointed we will turn preorders off but we'll stay at work until it's fixed or until we have some kind of ETA to report. We're assured there's a top priority on this.

Again, we apologize for the delay and for any frustration that this may be causing. We'll let you know immediately when we know something. As far as the client and installer download which should have been up today, we need to hold off until the pre-orders are up or until we have an ETA.

ALL clan cities and hamlets will be claimed. In order to seige a clan city, you need seige weapons, almost all of which can only be crafted by a clan workbench, meaning you need a clan city. Without a clan city, we will be at a severe disadvantage at everything we do. Clans we are at war with can attack us ANYWHERE, even racial cities, so there will be no safe haven for us to do anything in. With such a slow start, we'll be unable to make a name for ourselves and will quickly become known as this poor guild that sometimes peskily tries to seige a town or hamlet, but because they don't have any resources, fail miserably time and time again.

So do you want us to fail miserably time and time again? No? Then preorder! Do it! Now! F5 F5 F5 F5! :-P

Yes that is correct. They only have a limited number of slots. Once they are filled it could be a day, a week, a month, or who knows before you can get in.

On the issue we've been having connecting to our account management service, we've been talking to everyone involved all night and have a rough ETA from their network provider which should allow us to resume the pre-orders sometime today (Sunday) and to make sure that this issue never occurs again. A quick update:

Two major ISPs, one in Europe, the other in the US are cooperating on the issue we've been facing. We've been supporting them, and they've been working around the clock. The issue has been escalated as far as it can go, and we believe it's just a matter of time before it's solved. The minute it's done we'll likely launch the pre-orders.

We will also offer the installer and client download sometime tonight so that players will have it for launch day regardless of pre-ordering being up first.

We appreciate you hanging in there, and thank you for all the encouraging messages. We'll keep you posted.

Installer and Client download

Beta testers SHOULD NOT download or install this if they have a current beta installation or they won't be able to access the beta. Their beta client will get upgraded via patch on launch day.

For everyone else (other than the beta testers) that plans to buy the game you should download the Torrent here. (http://www.eu1.darkfallonline.com/dl/DarkfallFull/Darkfall%20Install.torrent)

For those who don't know what to do with a torrent file here are some instructions:

Step1: Get a BitTorrent client. For example μTorrent http://www.utorrent.com/
Step2: After installing the BitTorrent client, click the torrent link I post below to download the torrent file.
Step3: Double-click on the torrent file to open it in your BitTorrent client program.

The size of the download is around 9GB.

As for the issue we're having with the account management connectivity, it's still pending but should be fixed soon. We'll keep you posted on any developments, although we won't turn pre-orders on tonight, seeing that it's getting late in Europe.

There were also a few issues reported with the pre-orders involving 0 charges and a few other lesser issues. We will address these as soon as possible and report back with our findings.

It's just a suggestion, but I have a feelign with the way the preorders go it would be good to have as many together on the get go as possible.

Any gear you pick up can be easily saved with one of our members and transferred over if you do chose to relog the game with a different race. Granted you'll lose some level up points but in DF you can easily regain this. But heck maybe you'll like Miridain so much you won't want to!

If you can get there within that hour time frame that'd probably be okay. just remember to try and hit any Chaos/Clan stones along the way so that if you get killed you don't have to start your track over from the beginning area.

My thinking was simply trying to figure out the most productive and time effecient means for the faction to meet it's starting goals of getting the money for the clan and clan stone so we can get one of those top 4 city choices claimed before they are gone.

By the way anyone know when the release is FA time?

1. I received an email for a successful preorder and everything looks ok. Can you please confirm this?
The email is your confirmation, no further confirmation is needed.
2. I received an email about a successful confirmation but it says that I’ve been charged 0 or says that I’ve been charged “euro”, or the account management shows that I have not bought a pre-order.

This occurred because of lag on the account management system or because of multiple attempts to pre-order. We will try to process all of these incidents as successful pre-orders.

3. I have received an email about a successful pre-order and my credit card hasn’t been charged yet or my charge has disappeared.
It may take some days before the charge appears on your credit card.
4. I could not pre-order, the account management was timing out on me.
This is due to the large volume of customers trying to buy at the same time. We are continuously upgrading our capacity to handle demand. So far the demand has been too high but we’re doing all we can possibly do. We apologize for these problems.
5. I have ordered, and I see a charge pending with my bank but I haven’t received a confirmation email.

We are looking into this and we will do all we can to process this as a successful pre-order. Please check your spam folder for the confirmation email.

6. I have been charged twice or more times for the pre-order; does this mean I will get two copies of the game?
No, and this is not a problem. One copy per account will be bought. Your pre-order balance will be subtracted from the purchase price. This issue occurred because of lag, and multiple charge attempts. Do not cancel your pre-order if you’re facing this issue.
7. My credit card is fine, but I’m getting authorization errors.
Credit institutions have rules for your protection and these may have been activated during the processing. Multiple charge attempts, charge attempt frequency, incorrect account information such as name and billing address etc. may lead to a failed transaction. If you have any questions you should contact your credit institution.
8. I’m a beta tester and I wasn’t able to receive a pre-order.
We tried to give advanced warning and a head-start for beta testers twice. We’re sorry but we weren’t able to create a better system just for this so close to the release of the game. You will have many more opportunities to get a Darkfall copy in the next few days/weeks.

10. When will I be able to play the game?

The game servers are opening up sometime on the evening of February 25. You will be able to play if you’ve had a successful pre-order, or immediately after you buy the game on the 25th.

11. Why aren’t you accepting Paypal, my Maestro, Solo, Laser Debit, or any other debit card?
Currently we’re only accepting Credit Cards, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and JCB. We will add many more payment methods in the near future.
12. I sent my support question to support at aventurine.gr and I haven’t received an answer yet.
Please use the support form inside the account management system – these are given priority. If you use the email address then make sure you include your Darkfall Game account user name in your support email.
