General / Your actions reflect on all of us.
« on: January 04, 2012, 12:14:43 am »
For the first time I was almost ashamed to be wearing the tag Furious Angels as I warzoned this evening.  For the actions of a couple people left a terrible taste in my mouth.

On a consistant basis i am in both our teamspeak and my own due to having friends who play on our server not being in FA.  Today one of my friends decided to jump into warzones for the 1st time. Now he is known to us a casual player, but tries.  His queue pops with huttball and has to ask how to throw the ball and some basics cause he has only heard us talk about it before.   His match goes on and he mentions typical 1st time things like not knowing where to go all the time... timing of the firepits and the point of this little PSA, not knowing you cant access the goal line from "ground level."

He was tossed the ball and not knowing the map yet jumps down off a ledge thinking he can run in from one of the sides.  Well as you all know its gated off and you have a ramp only into the pit. Of course he dies and is flamed as a "terrible player" and "bad pug is bad" among other things. He gets a tell from another pug in the group says "wow what douchebags" discribing the flamers. He portrays the situation to us and I respond with... "what a surprise, dickheads on the internet."

It is on his next death he spawns next to the two people flaming him and I hear, "oh wonderful, those dicks are in your guild."

So I'm not naming names or speaking to them in specifically, I'm squashing a unacceptable behavior.  You speak of positive gameplay and wish to make an impact on the game / server.  In that warzone the impact you had was causing the probably 6 pugs to think we're a guild of douchebag angry teenagers who flame anyone under the sun. So well done with that.

Your actions are not just your own when you are in a guild they reflect us all.  We all have to deal with the dumb shit that spews out of your mouth when you want to be a dick to someone.  So if you want to rage on someone, hell we all do it... you should hear my rants... do it in guildchat...or teamspeak not in a public manner. Your better than that, I expect to never see that type of behavior again.

*tldr - Don't be a dick to people in general / public chat, it reflects on us all

Off Topic / StealthSwitch II - Never worry bout push-to-talk again
« on: October 07, 2011, 06:39:23 pm »
This is a product recommendation for anyone who hates push-to-talk as much as i do when trying to kill people.

Behold the StealthSwitch II!

This amazing little piece of tech is a USB Footpedal!

It allows you to bind whatever key you choose to the footpedal allowing you to play while having your hands free to kill stuff while using foot to trigger your mic. It has on-board storage so once you program it you can hook it up to any device and it saves your programmed keys.

It is very durable and has a very solid sensitivity level where i never feel i activated it by accident and i have large feet.

Note: This is how I am currently using this, you can also hook up an additional 4 foot pedals and bind them to whatever your little heart desires.

Non-VR Games / Beta and your PC specs
« on: September 07, 2011, 02:58:46 pm »
I've been having conversations with various people from work and other gaming buddies and the big concern alot of them are having is whether their PC can handle TOR.  So i'm trying to get an idea of what specs everyone who's in the beta is running and how they think its performing.  Info would be greatly appreciated.

My old specs - Q6600 quad 2.4ghz, 4gigs ram, Nvidia GT260, WD Raptor HD
Result - Almost unplayable on certain areas

New rig - i5-2500k, 16gigs PC1600 ram, AMD 6950, Crucial M4 128gig SSD,
Result - Zero slowdowns of any sort 60-90fps, even while live streaming 25fps+

only "lag" issues with game have been server latency related

Non-VR Games / Pazaak

Found a fun online version of Pazaak on the SWTOR forums.  I read somewhere they might add it into TOR as a mini-game, my and doui killled a bunch of time playing against each other while waiting for a dungeon queue, very fun.

Some keypoints :

- They are able to "guard" their allies. Building up their defense, avoidance, etc. is not going to be lost in a PvP situation. They'll be able to shift whatever kind of damage absorption they have onto their buddy.

- If I taunt a player, they are going to do less damage to everyone except for me

- So we have a Resolve bar. As players get hit in PvP with crowd control, their Resolve builds up. Once they have their Resolve bar maxed out, when they are hit in PvP with crowd control, they are immune

Been following this game for quite awhile, and its being released in about two week was wondering what the interest level is here.  My group of friends seem to be on board would love to get some FA action with this.

General / PAX East
« on: February 18, 2011, 03:19:02 pm »
As some of you know in a couple weeks TOR dev's will have a booth at PAX East and be holding some type of meet and greet outside of the convention in Boston, MA.  Since i am a local to those parts I will be in attendance, and was wondering if anyone else will be showing up.

Should be a pretty epic time, and would be cool to meet any of ya IRL.  I'll be going with a group of RL friends, so will most likely be hitting the town post Saturday events for some shanagians. If anyone is planning on attending or still up in air bout it, let me know.
