I've noticed a lot of people still seem interested in jacking into MXO every once in a while. However, due to it being summer and the serious lack of coordination by everyone, no one ever seems to sign on when anyone else signs on, for whatever reason. Part of the problem may be people not signing into TS; other parts of the problem are the stagnation of the faction and the lack of advancement in the gameplay of MXO.

However, nothing beats signing on and jacking in with a bunch of Furious Angels. And it still seems like, to me, that people are still up for that on occasion.

My proposal: A jack in day. We all coordinate, on a Friday or Saturday night, to sign into TS and jack into the Matrix Online. Much like our Vector Challenge (but without the level of grandeur), we would kick butt in PVP and wipe all the DE's faces in.

So, please, post days that you are available to participate. This doesn't have to be tomorrow, or even next week; just a time that we can all get together again and be active again.

I am available nearly anytime to jack in, except the 20th (as I'll be moving into school that day). Any other time for me is fine.

I'm looking into buying a new computer. I will be an undergraduate college student next semester at Michigan State University, which means that I need to have a laptop. However, as you all know, I game, just like the rest of you, and I want to be able to play the latest and greatest games at reasonable settings.

What would be more economical: a cheap notebook and a gaming desktop or a gaming notebook?

If I were to go with the cheap notebook/gaming desktop decision, should I buy through Dell or build my own? If I were to build my own PC, what components would you suggest?

I know that I receive a meager education discount at outlets like Dell and Apple, but do I also receive discounts at places like Newegg and Tigerdirect?

If I were to go with the gaming notebook, where should I buy it from?

My budget is probably somewhere around $2,000, but I have not yet received a confirmation from my dad on how much he's exactly giving me for a computer. I want to go into that conversation with him armed with knowledge and research so that he is more likely to want to do this.

I was playing Lord of the Rings Online this morning, and the error came up. I thought nothing of it, as I've never seen it before, and after I rebooted, everything was fine during my reboot process and as I browsed the forums and such. I eventually jumped back in to LOTRO, and after about 5 minutes of playing, again, it happened. I shut the computer down, gave it about 15 minutes to cool-down, and I turned it back on. Again, after about 5 minutes of playing, the error occurred for the third time.

I have not changed any of my computer settings. I have not changed any graphical settings. I haven't even upgraded my video drivers within the last two weeks. What could be the problem?

I should also include that I don't run any other processes while playing this game (nor MXO). I don't run Kazaa (actually, I've never run it), I don't run iTunes, and I don't even run MSN. The only other application that I run is Teamspeak.

It looks like we have a Live Events post that we need to get crackin' on. I don't know how similar this is to the other stuff that has been put up, and I haven't had a chance to look at it, but, hopefully, it is interesting.

Just putting this out there for those who don't regular the MXO Live Events board enough.

I've heard complaints that people feel "left behind" on certain quests because they have been unable to be on for whatever reason (timezones, busy work schedule, etc.). This causes a problem because certain people feel left out, both with the inability to PVP effectively and the dejection of not wanting to be helped by other faction mates. We do not want to breed this sort of feeling amongst our members. I know that I had to be very vocal at first to get people to farm for the Headgear with me, even though I am the main faction healer. I don't want others to have to feel that they have to do the same.

A lot of people still need to complete quests that have been released in past updates, such as the Headgear, Data Mining Farming, PB4, and Area K quests (plus anything else that springs to mind). We have about 2-3 weeks until we get our next patch, and Rarebit has this to say about the next patch:

I've saddled myself with a big questy thing for the next update.

It sounds like we're going to get another big quest, and it may as well be as long and (hopefully not) tedious as the Headgear Quest. We need to get a majority of the past quests out of the way so we have a cleaner slate going in. It is inexcusable that we, as Furious Angels, have not completed a majority of our quests.

Here's your chance to be vocal about getting the quests YOU need done.

Please, fill out the template below and tell us whether those are done or not done. If they still need to be completed, please, post how much you still have to go before you reach your goal and it's level of importance (1 being the highest, 5 being the lowest). Those members who have similar needs can try and coordinate times that they can be on so they can help each other out.

I also ask the more active members who have most (if not all) of their quests done help out with the quests as well. I think we should put the PVP on the back-burner as well when people are on who need stuff done. We were able to do that during the System Tie Clip event, and look at how many Tie Clips we were able to farm.

We have a good 3-4 weeks (that's nearly a month!) to complete most of the old quests before the new one is released. To quote Broin, "LET'S DO THIS, PEOPLE!"

Vacation!

Los Angeles is where it will be at. I'll be visiting colleges (Pepperdine mostly), going to Universal Studios (we got 2-day tickets for the price of one day), hitting the beach, and general being lazy in the sun.

However, I'm not just going there for fun and games. I'm going there to make games. Yeah, I get to design a video game at this camp right on the UCLA campus. I think it will be a lot of fun. Once we're done, we get to present it to the producer of Age of Empires and see what he thinks of the game. I'll (hopefully) be able to browse the forums just as much as I do normally, but I don't know if I'll be able to get in-game. It would be hella sweet if I could download MXO and show it off to everyone... and maybe get a new Angel or two recruited in the process. Who knows.

I know that this will be a geek fest. Hopefully it won't be as bad as I'm imagining it to be. I just can't get the picture of 40-mini Rarebits running around out of my mind... O_O

I get back on the 9th/10th of July. My apologies for not being able to help out with the farming. I wish I could, and hopefully I'll be able to. Maybe I'll get lucky and at least be able to jump onto TS every once in a while.
