It's coming from bloody China! Apparently it's currently in some place called Waalwijk, which I believe is the Netherlands or something... sounds Dutch/completely stupid anyhow.

Yeah, it's in Hinckney at the moment. It takes two days to get to England from China and it takes two days to get from England to my house in Wales. Go figure.

Right: update on the situation. I talked to alienware tech support and it seems I've totally fucked my laptop up and was told to boot up the system via my optic drive, but I get a message saying there's a memory error. Fuck sake. Trying to phone up again...

bloody hell, I'm so god-damned stupid.

Don't beat yourself up. A computer shouldn't take a shit over something as simple as driver updates, especially when you get them straight from the manufacturer.

The alienware techie's going to link my m11x via the internet/AlienCommand so he can see what's wrong and put it right. I've managed to get the GFX drivers working reasonably well (can play dragon age on high settings) but don't want to push it until I've got the green light. Apparently, the mistake I did is quite common (that cheered me up) but takes quite a while to correct.

So what exactly happened subb? What exactly is wrong with the wifi?Did all the drivers install fine except for the wifi?

If that's the case, don't worry too much about that. Just enjoy the laptop now that it's up and running. I'm sure ii we can't figure something out the tech will be able to help solve it if it's something he's heard of before.

I'm surprised something so little spanks the shit out of my old XPS 1530.

Also, I remember when the 5th revision of the M15x Bios had a compatibility problem with the driver disc that the laptop comes with.

It actually BRICKS the alien FX controller. The only way of fixing it is by installing a new motherboard.

Shit sucks, but this is the type of quality control problems that dell has had recently.

Fortunately for us, their warranties are really good.
