I was wondering what all the ship names meant, since they aren't translatable, like through babelfish or anything. I believe they are greek, but written phenetically in English. If you translate it into Italian, you get a close match, tho.
I know:
Veritas = Truth
Evigilos = Awake
Libertas = Liberty
Carpe Diem = Sieze the Day
Asperitas = ?
Decerto = ?
Formosus = ?
They are all cool tho.

How are they not translatable?
Asperitas = Fierceness
Decerto = Fight/Contend
Formosus = Beautiful
-
i meant through the program i was using at least, did you know these names or did you go somewhere to figure it out?
-
Also, veritas in verb form also means to fear or respect.

Not Greek, but Latin. You translated them correctly, though.
Veritas = Truth
Evigilos = Awake, Alert, Watchful, Hard-working
Libertas = Liberty, Freedom
Carpe Diem = 'Sieze the Day'
Asperitas = Roughness, Severity, Harshness, Fierceness
EDIT: Wow, you folks certainly beat me to this while I was typing.
I already knew Veritas, Libertas, Carpe Diem, and Evigilos. I had to use http://humanum.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/Lexis/Latin/ for Asperitas.

is there a latin translator on the web?
EDIT: Yeah, this forum has turned into a circle shaped chat, eh? (No I'm not Canadian)
EDIT: btw, thanks

Indeed, see my edit above.
