AT&T: VOIP, Including Skype, On iPhone To Run On 3G Network
AT&T's move is a big one, and it comes as debate gets underway over proposed net neutrality rules at the Federal Communications Commission that would prohibit network providers from blocking applications such as Skype.

Here's the release:

AT&T* today announced it has taken the steps necessary so that Apple can enable VoIP applications on iPhone to run on AT&T's wireless network. Previously, VoIP applications on iPhone were enabled for Wi-Fi connectivity. For some time, AT&T has offered a variety of other wireless devices that enable VoIP applications on 3G, 2G and Wi-Fi networks. AT&T this afternoon informed Apple Inc. and the FCC of its decision.

In late summer, AT&T said it was taking a fresh look at VoIP capabilities on iPhone for use on AT&T's 3G network, consistent with its regular review of device features and capabilities to ensure attractive options for consumers.

"iPhone is an innovative device that dramatically changed the game in wireless when it was introduced just two years ago," said Ralph de la Vega, president and CEO, AT&T Mobility & Consumer Markets. "Today's decision was made after evaluating our customers' expectations and use of the device compared to dozens of others we offer."

AT&T allows customers to download or launch on their wireless devices a multitude of compatible applications directly from any lawful Internet website. Additionally, because AT&T uses GSM technology, the most pervasive and open wireless technology platform in the world, we support customers using any GSM phone that works on AT&T's frequencies.

*AT&T products and services are provided or offered by subsidiaries and affiliates of AT&T Inc. under the AT&T brand and not by AT&T Inc.

If you have any device.. I mean any device and you want to protect it FOREVER I highly highly highly recommend these guys.

Recently my IPOD crashed out after a dip into a water filled sink.  I got a new IPOD and Zagg replaced the shield for free.  At the same time the older IPOD,  that the wife was using, InvisShield had the smallest of little black dots on it.  I showed it to the guy and Bam... He put a new shield on that one as well free of charge.

I plan on getting the Zbuds soon.  They are seriously the best earbuds out there.  The wire is not a plastic wire but a smooth cord type material that does not tangle ever.

Buy this shit man.... And not just because I'm going to dump some coin into this company..  :D

An excellent recommendation for your phones/laptops/iPods; they provide great protection, and the lifetime replacement is a major plus (which you will use eventually - trust me).

Oh, and to add to my reply, I guess AT&T must be feeling the pressure of the new Microsoft Lineup with the 20 or 30 some new WM6.5 devices by Christmas, the (awesome) My Phone service, and now the Windows (non-discriminating) Marketplace.

No one is fearing WinMo 6.5.

Have you even used it?  It's nothing different.

Microsoft knows 6.5 isn't anything special.  Their execs are saying WinMo 7 should have been released already, they don't know what has taken so long, and that future revisions will not be so few and far between.

I installed my invisishield today. So far it looks like crap. The edges of the back aren't lining up right and there are little bubbles I can't get rid of. Instructions say they'll work themselves out in 2-3 days, but what's the point of getting a scratch-proof cover if the cover makes the phone look like it has shit all over it.

Be calm and patient... It took me about 10 minutes to get my shield lined up right the first time, and I still had some huge bubbles in there.  They worked themselves out in about 3-4 days and it looked great.

My suggestion is to try and find a Zagg's pro guy.  You can find them in various malls around your areas.  Let the pros install it for the extra 10 bucks and it'll look perfect.

If you don't like the way it looks when you are done T, then just find a mall that has a Zagg guy in it and have him put a new one on.  No charge for the shield it'll only cost you 10.00 for the installation.

Yes, they can indeed be a pain in the ass to apply.  As Broin stated, just take your sweet time setting it - they look fine once they are affixed properly.  If you wind up having to apply another one, don't be shy with the spray, and squeegee the hell out of everything (feel free to peel it back and spray more if you are still getting bubbles...also, make sure to spray some of the solution on your fingertips while you handle each piece).  For the corners and the oddly cut pieces on the back, let them dry a bit so they get tacky, followed by holding them them in place until they stick well and don't bubble or peel back.

Wow, I'm glad I don't buy low quality apple crap and have to 'squeegee' my screen.
