Did anyone see the premiere of this show tonight.. if so.. what did you think.. I was working so I have no clue if it was any good...
Furthermore.. do any of you know good torrent sites where I might find the first episode already.. I want to see it.. but I don't forsee it being rerun material yet...

They had really good preveiw, I'm surprised you haven't seen them.
The show last night was a good intro-and that's all. It basicly setup each character, how they very vaugly interact with eachother and a hint to their abilities - or in some cases being flat out about it. They already have a villian, but only a face and his large part in at least one of the hero's lives.
The rest of the show will be either really really good, or really bad. Think of this as the great great grandfather to the XMen; like where the world finally saw it's first mutants.

No, it's not about 1 person at a time. The show is about all of these characters. They even involve a guy from china who can teleport and alter time.

I am loving this show, and the Matrix reference didn't escape me either ("Suresh? Must be a common name back where you're from. Like Smith, or Anderson", he says, paraphrasing). Anyway yeah all they need to do now is get rid of that man whose only ability is to talk through the side of his mouth like he's constantly cracking jokes.
And is it me, or does everyone have a special power? I mean, everyone?

That's been my theory so far, too, yes. I also think that mister Hindu son-of-mutant-studying-doctor-dude-type-too-long-of-a-name-person has the power of seeing/hearing/speaking with the dead. Pretty interesting.
Now...who's your favorite character? Definitely Hiro for me. He's always so excited about everything, and he has this interesting perspective of the world ever since he discovered his power. He's also funny as hell. And naive.

Yeah, angst guy has figured out that he can absorb or reflect the powers of the people around him - I think that's a given at this point.
I'm not so sure that doctor guy has powers to communicate with the dead as much as it is that his sister-he-never-knew-he-had-that-was-special had (or has) powers that relate to her being able to somehow communicate with him. It's obvious that SHE is the one pointing things out to him, so I would guess she would be the one with the power or control. Perhaps she had the power to enter people's dreams and though her physical presense is gone, she lives on in the dream world or something crazy like that.
Interesting title of the last episode - seven minutes until midnight. I believe that was the time that doctor-dude noticed Skylar's watch was frozen at when he dreamed of his dad's death. Other times in the episode they zoomed up on that watch. I'm guessing something happened or happens to Skylar at exactly that time. What's cool about this show is that time really isn't a variable. For all we know, Skylar could be one of our main heroes who takes a turn for the worse and ends up back in time.

It's a television show about "ordinary people" suddenly realizing they have unique gifts, the tale of them trying to cope with them, and the epic story of others wanting a slice of the power pie. As it were. Either way, it rocks my socks. I've been watching every single episode, as well as archiving them on my computer. I have episodes 1-8 in HD with Dolby Digital 5.1 preserved in the avi. They're quite big as far as file sizes (considering their only episodes and not whole movies), but I think it's well worth it.
My friends and I always start theorizing what's going on in the story, and whenever we need to double-check something, I just fire up the needed episode, we watch it, and then the debate begins all over again XD

So this episode was pretty much a backstory episode. Ol Sylar found a way to absorb people's powers through their brains, I'm guessing. So save the cheerleader, save the world because Sylar would be pretty much unstopable if he couldn't die, for one. Though Sylar has been shot and fell and survived both without a scratch.
Double personality chick I'm guessing is carrying the soul of her dead sister. I would say it's just a mental thing except this show is supernatural. So is she special or her dead sister or both? Maybe her sister would have developed super strength, which is why she is so bad-ass in her alter-ego?
One interesting thing that is developing is that the powers seem to have minds of their own. It is interesting trying to combine the evolution spin with the fate spin. The "powers" seem to know more than their hosts, though. Hiro's powers teleport him back to Japan and shuts itself off to prevent him from saving the girl. Fly-boy's powers saved him during the car wreck without his control. Is it all based on survival or are these powers somehow all-knowing?
Oh, and someone's gonna die next episode...lol

Dude, I think the Indian dude is my Dell technician. He sounds JUST like him, and today I listened for his name and I swear to you his name is Mohinder. Maybe I have special powers and he is trying to contact me. I'm gonna lose it if he goes back to New York and gets a job with Dell to pay the bills. Haha!

Actually, I'm pretty stupid. I had never actually run chkdsk /p and chkdsk /r. If found errors and repaired them, so hopefully I'm all fixed now. We'll find out in a few days.

What did you guys think? I thought it was interesting that it was foreshadowed that Peter is actually the bomb. What do you think causes this? Maybe he gets overloaded from being around too many other heroes? Or maybe that nuclear dude was near him and he blew up cause he was throwing a hissy fit.
Next episode: Godsend
Some of the cliffhangers from the last episode are resolved. Claude, an new hero is introduced. He will offer a different view of the recent changes that have happened in the human evolutionary process. He'll also meet Peter.

I tend to agree with you that maybe having all those hero powers in one place might overload him and make him explode. It happened after all of them approached him (or at least got near him). That almost seems too simple, though. I'm sure it's something else that we will learn later, but I did think of the same theory.
So how did Sylar get some powers back? Was he holding back the whole time? I don't understand why he's suddenly able to break out when she comes in there. And her persuasion trick worked on him before. I guess once we understand how they supressed his powers, we will be able to understand how he got them back.
Oh, and the telepathy cross-static was too funny...haha!

Maybe Ulura is Japanese for monster or something? At some point Hiro's gonna go on a crazy time journey and learn to use a sword and speak proper English. I think his time power just likes to f*ck with him...lol

That black dude was the thing keeping his powers at bay right? And he turned on them didn't he? So he may have either been holding back the whole time... or the black dude let him have his powers so he could escape and kill people. I don't like that guy.
So what am I going to do with no Heroes tonight? :( not another episode till the 22nd? :(

I like Likwid's idea of the black guy "supressing" powers. As far as Peter overloading on powers, why would all of the heroes happen to be there at the same time?
I never thought about the powers having a life of their own...hmm...
I wonder what direction this show is going to take if we're going to have a badass ninja Hiro - can you imagine just how far they can go with superhero storylines? I'm definately awaiting the show's return.
