The Matrix Online is a game that, ultimately, is about community; for that reason we want to see that players can meet easily and join together in-game for fun and friendship. Recently, members of the community have noted that it can be difficult to find other players in The Matrix: Mega City. The current level of population density can limit opportunities for socializing with other players which are such a key part of our worlds.
Bringing Worlds Together
On August 2, 2005, we will be merging the nine current worlds into three new worlds. This merge should help to increase the number of players on any world at any given time. One world will be Hostile while the other two will run under normal PvP rules. Here is the breakdown of which worlds are being joined together:
Enumerator, Heuristic, Input: Hostile World Method, Regression, Iterator: Normal World Proxy, Linenoise, Output: Normal World
Character Transfers and Additional Character Slots
In conjunction with the world merge, we'll be providing players with a total of three character slots on each new world. If you have characters on more than one of the merging worlds, they will all be transferred to the applicable new world. If you had fewer than three existing characters, you'll have open slots to create brand new characters.
When you log-in after the merge takes place, you'll be able to select which character you'd like to use on any world. You can also select an empty slot to create a new character.
Crews and Factions
Crew and Faction data will also be carried over to the new server worlds. In the event that your Crew or Faction name conflicts with another Crew or Faction's name on the new world, the Crew or Faction name will have a tag appended to it. If you want to change a modified name after the merge occurs, you'll be able to contact customer service to rename your Crew or Faction.
XP and $Info Boost
For a limited period of time after the new worlds come online, we'll also be increasing the amount of XP (experience points) and $Info (in-game currency) you can earn. The $Info bonus will apply to gang NPCs and the XP bonus will apply to both gangs and missions. It'll be the perfect time to start a new character in an open slot!
We're also including something that players have been asking for, especially those at higher levels.
RSI Attribute Reconfiguration Hack
Players should make sure they have an open slot in their Inventories, because it is time to hack their RSI Attributes! Every character will receive an RSI Attribute Reconfiguration Hack. This item will allow players to reset their characters' Attributes to their original starting values and re-assign Attribute points where they see fit. The RARH only works once, so players should plan accordingly.
New Player-Named Worlds
The three new worlds will be just that--all new. (The machines like to keep things tidy.) We're leaving it up to The Matrix Online community to name these new worlds. Players will be able to vote on the possible server names in the Broadcast Depth forum. The three names that get the most votes will be used for the new worlds. Voting begins on Thursday, July 28th, and closes on Friday, July 29th, so players should join in and vote right away!

You guys missed it. Look over the whole thing. Three characters per server. Can we say SPIES SPIES SPIES. SOOOOO easy to create an alternate character on the same server and spy on your favorite faction to hate. Ugh....
And yeah, I'll make a thread in the other servers.

Perhaps we should have a special HvCRT dedicaed to intel gathering? =)
Also make the interviews a little more personal? Or making everyone in the faction make 3 players on the server and meet with us in game on all 3 chars? They can later delete the chars, but at least we'd know they're not currently in a faction looking to get to us.

That would be us and the Veritas. The expanded charachter slots gives us an even better chance to do so.

So this all happens on tuesday, and they don't know how long the servers are going to be down for. I hope they are back by the 8th cause thats my vacation week from work I had some mad gaming planned. :p

umm see the thing is they can get someone else to act as thier real charater so 2 of the characters could be actually theres and then they ask somone one to act as thier third one. So I dont know how to make that work.

Yeah maybe. But another problem would be is we still would get a name change but if Tbone ran all of the 3 factions it would make for an easy ccr and/or rename with no complicarion.

Because of this FA on heuristic we need to make sure that we get ahold of the devs before they do so they dont take our TAG. therefore we must have numbers on to tell the devs right when the server is restarted.

My petition:
My main character is on the Enumerator server, Fuse. I am a long time member of "Furious Angels" faction there, which has been well established sinse long before beta by TBone, the commander. Here on Input, some members of opposing factions have created a faction with the same name, under different names. I know it is some from enumerator because "OMGxWTFxHAX" details are the same as one of our common enemies on Enumerator. The leaders are all named "TBonesXXXXX" where XXXXX is "MOM", "DAD", and "livemate".
When the servers merge I ask that the original Furious Angels from enumerator keep thier own name, without any server specific flag. To add to that, I would like some action to be taken against these people. While I can not prove it is a group of people on Enumerator that have consistently abused game mechanics, and players, I know you can. I understand the need for money on your part, but most are sick of you not governing rules. There are blatant pictures of members of the "RIP" faction using the HP bug and flying while killing players, yet they are still in game.
Please keep me updated, as I will keep you updated if I can get more information. Thank you, Brian "Fuse" Smith

I also beleive this is something Aether and/or Walrus should see and address. They are not a new faction that coincidently have the same name. They told other memebers to goto "http://www.followtheangel.org" which is our website. Expect a picture of this from Castiglione (Input name) which is a real FA member, Jeyk, on Enumerator.

I notice this is now set as "Solved" status. Can you please let me know what has been done to warrant this status? Simply seeing the issue certainly does not make it solved. Does this mean that our Enumerator factin will not have the added mark to our name? (This is the best idea for all factions, and base it off of creation date) Does this mean the faction name on the other servers will be deleted and the members disbanded? Does this mean the other members have had thier account names linked to trouble makers on other servers and they are taken care of?-in which case I understand not disclosing your reasoning for the status change. Please keep me up to date with the situation and what is being done about it. Thank you.

Greetings, This is GM AzureSkie. There is no news on how factions and faction names will be affected once the merge occurs. I can only suggest you keep an eye on the website for updates on it. In regards to players with names like TBONEsDAD, these names are not considered violations. As such, we will not change these names or take action against these players for the names. If these players say anything offensive (profanity, sexually explicit, etc), please send us a screenshot and we'll investigate it. Thank you, GM AzureSkie

Hello, I am a member of Furious Angels on Enumerator, the original faction from beta. When the merge of the servers were announced some, what we believe, fellow players on enumerator took the chance to take our name and start a faction on the server input. They are are using names like TBONEsDAD, TBONEsMOM, etc. In case you do not know Tbone is the leader of Furious Angels. They are using this to ruin the name of Furious Angels and talking crap in area chat to members of the server input about how when the servers merge furious angels will kill everyone and just shouting random crap and explicitives. From what we can tell they are using this so we can get a tag next to our name when the merge happens and most likely claim they are the real ones so they can get the tag removed off of thier name. Please stop this from happening. I have gotten a invite into a crew which is part of the fake faction furious angels on input, i have taken screenshots of name of people in the faction, i am hoping by infiltrating into this crew i will figure out thier intentions even more and get more evidence . They are simply doing this to make the game not fun for us, the real furious angels. Thank you for taking the time to read this and please do somthing about it.

if we all make a furious angels on those servers, were still going to get the tag when we merge, because we will be the people holding the name on the other servers... so does it make sence to make the faction on the other servers??

I would like to apologize if there was some confusion here with your ticket being marked as solved, with the transition to Sony Online you will see this happening a lot more as this is how our CS department works for all SOE brand games. By marking it as solved you still have the option to reply back if final comments by the GM did not solve the problem and we would be more then happy to continue to assist you with your issues. As for your faction questions, what we will need is for your Faction Leader to submit a ticket after the server merger has completed indicating the problem and what he is requesting from us. The reason for this is so that we are dealing with just one person from your faction and not everybody, as I'm sure you can understand with the server merger and the transition to Sony Online we are quite busy right now and we honestly cannot respond to each person in the faction. What I would ask is that you request that your Faction Leader conact us after the merger is complete and we would be more then happy to straighten this out for him. We appreciate your patience. Thanks Brewko. I do understand you guys are quite busy and in a business environment, this is a small issue umung many more complaints to go through... One of my concerns is that our faction leader, TBone, is on vacation for a week and to lose a name and representation we have held sinse early beta would be devastating considering the consequences with these childish people doing it purposly to give us that bad name. I will let him and the rest of my faction know what you have told me, but if TBone is not back when we have a flag on our heads our captains will most certainly request the change for us. Thank you

although I think we have to understand it is out of our control, to the point where we don't know who is going to be first to ccr it, this is the first I heard about ccr'ing to get the tag renamed without having the server flag,
so 1) hopefully no one else knows of this, and 2) hopefully members of the dev team will be smart and allow us to have our tag, since there is such a large and respected FA history. (or at least we are led to believe)
Like you said the best way to do it would be from creation date. But we'll see.

This is a bunch of crap, The ones who created FA on the other servers did it to be a joke and disrespect our faction. We have made several screenshots of them telling other players to goto followtheangel.org, and /ccr them. My opion make them change the name if possible.
