Hey, just figure I would post since I haven't been around much lately. To make a long story short, I've had a lot happening in my life recently so until I get out of this rut you might not see me around as often as I should.

General / MiA for a bit...

Well, after waiting all day for a tech to come and replace my motherboard i now have a laptop that doesn't even turn on.

So the motherboard they sent is DoA and now i have to wait for a tech and ANOTHER motherboard. Instead of dealing with this fixing bullshit i wanted a replacement.

After bitching to Dell about this, they refused to send me a replacement system and kept insisting on fixing it so now i don't know how long it'll take for me to get my laptop up and running but i'm taking this shit to the BBB.

Now i know some of us saw this back when it was still in development and thought it would be an interesting game to check out.

For those that are still interested, steam has a demo / trial version available for download. I'm still downloading it as i type this but i'm just curious if anyone else bought the game / downloaded the demo and what their thoughts on the game are.

EDIT: After downloading and trying the game out, I can't honestly give a good answer. The game's PVE is VERY boring. It queue's you up with random people and you do a generic and boring mission. I'd imagine PVP is where the fun is but since you need to setup a group before queuing up, i haven't had a chance to test it out. This is mainly due to the fact that no one wants to be grouped with noobies during a PVP match so, unfortunately, the only thing i've been able to do so far is PvE.

General / What Arch has been doing....

Alright, those of you that know me know that i am a child at heart, love video games, and that i'm a HUGE nerd...

With that being said i know i have not been around the past few days but it's not because i'm not enjoying DFO by a LOONG shot...

i've had trouble prying myself off the game to get a personal project done that i've been working with my girlfriend. Since we had planned to finish this for July we're starting to run out of time and need to devote a little more time to it.

I know i've played a bit of TF2 since the lastest update but most of my time was used to stuff like this.

http://img15.imageshack.us/my.php?image=darklinkchainmailfinish.jpg

Now for those of you that don't know, Me and my girlfriend are nerds and like cosplay, anime, and of course Video Games. This chainmail was done completely by hand and has been worked on and off for about 5 months... Recently me and her have been pulling an overhaul to get this done. We still need to make the tunic, sword, shield, and other various props. This is for a Dark Link (The Legend of Zelda / Smash Bros. Brawl for those few that don't know :P) Costume that i'm gonna be wearing at a Con :P

For the next few weeks i'll be trying to be as active as possible while still working on this personal project but know that i might not be able to be as active as i normally am until after July.

Edit: Oh yeah... The only picture i have of it finished is with my sisters new cat... I was playing around with her while my gf took the pictures :P

General / The next form of exploits.
« on: April 12, 2009, 05:14:43 pm »
So i walk into tughri to be bombarded with lightning from a newly built guard tower...

only thing is my ping shot up to the thousands cause everyone else in tughri is taking advantage of the skill ups for rigor and reflex through it. I'd recommend for everyone to bind to inarith for the time being while these fucks go ahead and exploit and lag the area to hell.

Let's try not being associated with any of this until it all get cleared out or fixed by the devs.

This might finally be the little shove we need to break away from tughri and start moving back up to our little hamlet.

General / Phase:2 - Group Outing
« on: March 29, 2009, 10:26:29 pm »
Alright, i felt that this needed a new thread since

1) The old thread dealing with the roster of people's preferred play style is way down and dead

and

2) This will organize things during our outing.

I want to try and create a exploration run for us all as a group.

This will consist of our ...

Recon unit- Stealth/ranged/fighters that love doing it from behind (Such as myself ^_^ )
and our
Tank unit-  Fighters that are getting their hands dirty / bait (or aggro ,if you will.)

Just let me know on here or on TS which you'd prefer to be in.

We'll be going out into the world and seeing all that there is to see along with areas taken over by our enemies.

This is a good way to get more markings that haven't been seen on the FA map. This of course will eventually lead to us running into hostiles that are...

A) Harvesting

B) Fighting mobs

C) Other gank units

While we do these outings i want to try and keep the Recon unit out of sight of the Tank group to get the enemy to underestimate and gain a false sense of security should they come across our group. The Recon unit will of course move in for the flank or stay out of harms way while attacking with a flurry of arrows or missiles.

This is extremely effective for taking people out. Even with minuscule numbers it is possible to effectively take out a few enemies before dying.

As for a date to try and schedule this, I've seen that most people are good during Weekdays so i'm gonna go out on a limb and try and pull these off on Tuesdays and Thursdays anywhere from 2:00 pm FA to 2:00 am FA

Depending on our numbers through out the day we can try different areas or different ways of going out and killing/exploring to try and boost our combat efficiency.

Also, I would HIGHLY recommend to go only in armor / weaponry that is expendable. I can make cloth armor and there is TONS in the clan bank so feel free to ask me for some or an officer to get some out of the bank. The cloth doesn't protect for much but it's better than being nude.

What i feel is more important in the heat of battle is food and stamina / hp pots. These are definitely something that we have a lot of, is somewhat expendable, and can make the difference in living or dying.

I will leave a short example simply for the sake of giving an idea as to what to look forward to...

Me and Setun were scouting an area towards the deep south and came across a lone alfar harvesting...

He caught sight of Setun and immediately starting gunning it further south. I was high a top a hill / short mountain keeping an eye out for anyone in the vicinity. After a short while, the Alfar had reinforcements... 2 or 3 ( can't recall)  on foot and another on a mount. As they all were distracted with Setun, i came in from the top of the mountain (Forgot my arrows >_<) and started to attack the others from behind.

Sure, me and him died since it was four - five on two... but we took two of them down with us while all we had was cloth armor...

No pots... no food.... Just cloth.

« on: March 27, 2009, 11:45:23 pm »
So i log and see Jarimus running around in Tughri... only REALLLY slowly...

At that moment i thought (no homo)

"Damn... it would be really funny to just watch him by the shore running at that same speed without armor on and having the baywatch theme playing in the backround."

So i say someone with the video capabilities should probably do this some time XD

I would but i don't know shit from shit about fraps =/

General / Group Outing.

So i feel that many of us are obviously very well set when it comes to Harvesting... However i know for a fact that a lot of us have combat skills that need major work (Like me T_T)

I think we need to try and set dates or times where instead of all this harvesting we either go all out and have mock battles/spars or just go on out and turn the tables on these bastard Alfar/Orcs/Mahirim.

I think the fact that these gankers are constantly fighting, they clearly learn the ways of pvp the hard way.

What we need is to go and fight and practice good teamwork and communications within THIS game.

Sure in MxO we were a force to be reckoned with and had our teamwork down to a science.

This game is very different however and we need to do these combat runs to actually see what works well and what we can do to increase our ability to wreck face without the need of zerg numbers.

I my honest opinion, i see this alliance as very loose and something we all are easily falling back on. Hell, we don't even stay in our own city anymore.

This needs to change.

Input and Thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

Off Topic / Tbone's movie... vid... thing.
« on: March 09, 2009, 02:49:54 am »
I can't remember what it was called but i had it on an old HDD before it got wiped T_T

Some of you older members might remember a vid that Tbone linked that was basically a movie about some sort of twig people... or something along those lines (such as one scene of said twig people getting their asses handed to them by evil communist meanies...)

If anyone has it (Or hell if you still have a link to where you've uploaded it T) Mind posting it?

I loved watching it, made me laugh every time.

Don't know if i ever mentioned this Half-Life two mod ( i doubt it since i didn't have a computer that could handle it till i got my laptop) that is very fun and very objective based.

Imagine an fps shooter where a team must infiltrate an area and complete an objective. However, to get further towards your goal you need to hack certain Nodes (also referred to as Jack-in Points) to unlock or gain access to various things Such as hacking for access to doors, elevators, hacking turrets to point towards enemies, etc.

What's interesting is when you go to hack, you literally Jack in to these nodes and are take to the virtual world in which you need to travel and find your destination that controls whatever it is that you wish to hack and take over.

I'm still new to the game so if any of these is somewhat incorrect, sorries T_T

Anyway, here is the website http://www.dystopia-game.com/

I would highly recommend it for anyone that has Half-Life 2 since it is a mod and is free to download and play as long as you have Half-Life 2

P.S. My Steam Name is ArchNemesis26

Add it if you wish, i play this and DoD:Source ALOT

« on: June 24, 2007, 11:21:26 pm »
Alright guys... How many of you fellas have ever heard of this game...

If you have a PSP, GET IT!!!!

It is an awesome game! The story really isn't too captivating but the gameplay is amazing! It's a pretty difficult game starting out but trust me, when it finally clicks it's worth it and rewarding. This game REALLY shines when it comes to Multiplayer... unfortunately it's only Ad-hoc.

That's where Xlink Kai comes in.

Anyone with a psp should really Invest on a Datel Wifi Max. With Xlink Kai it lets you play with other people online with Ad-hoc only games.

Why am i mentioning this?   I miss you guys and this is the only gaming i have time for.

So for all you guys that have PSP's, i would highly recommend buying Monster Hunter Freedom (The second one comes out in August 20 something) or if you guys have Downgraded/Custom Firmware on your PSPs, you can go and download the ISO.

Once you guys get into the game you'll see how much this game can compare to an MMO. This game will EASILY accumulate hours and hours of gameplay. For a Handheld, my game save has over 300 Hours of gametime. NOT including the quest that i've canceled because i've died or fucked up =p

P.S. If any of you guys need help downgrading and upgrading to custom firmware, give me a PM or hell a reply on here ^_^

It appears that as hard as i tried to keep this promise, inevitably, it was going to come down to this.

It was an honor and a privelage to be called a Furious Angel. I was here pretty much from the start. I promised that i would also be here till the end... Unfotunately, i no longer have the will to fight. I wish i can stay among you angels as a spectator on the sidelines... watching over their fellow teamates as they do the amazing things that they do.

But alas, i can't. I'm putting away the knives and hanging my wings.

This is my farewell to you all as a Operative in the Matrix.

I no longer have the will, the time, or the money to keep on going. You all were my first real guild experience in my first paid for MMO. I'm glad it was with you all for i could not have picked a better bunch of gamers. You all are well formed, yet still have fun. The things that have been produced under the name of  "The Furious Angels" are either amazing or raise the bar for what SHOULD be amazing. It was truly a great experience to be here...

I will miss you all, Arch signing out.

Yeah, I think a few members saw this at one point while i posted in TS once.

This is one of those things that scares the fuck outta ya / makes you laugh /  and makes you cry all at once. it's like watching a train derailing into a field of sleeping cows. You can't help but watch the whole thing no matter how horrible it might be...

With that being said, enjoy ^_^
