The headlines today are, "Keanu Reeves Says Matrix 4 and 5 are Coming".

I originally posted this in randomness but it seems to carry more weight than I initially thought. Here are some links:

Some of the high points are Keanu met with the Wachowski's around Christmas and the Wachowski's met with James Cameron to discuss 3D pros and cons.

Awesome! Wonder if this means there's a future somewhere for MxO? Seems like gaming companies drool over reasons to make money these days, and I'd imagine a couple of new films would really bring some life back into MxO...

I don't get it.  Ask anyone outside of the remaining devoted few about the sequels, and they'll have nothing good to say about them.  People still make the joke that the sequels never even happened.  Now this rumor breaks out and suddenly the entire internet is shit-their-pants giddy to see more Matrix movies?  I just don't get it.

Honestly, I'm glad it's not happening.  I hope it never happens.  Especially not in 3D.  



Sure enough I typed out an extremely long and angry rant, then thought better of it and deleted it.  TL;DR: I'm angry that so many people suddenly like The Matrix again when all they could do before today was shit on it.

When I first saw the headline I gave it a 10% chance of being legit. When it made IMDb I upped that to about 50/50. (IMDb has since pulled it from the homepage, fyi.)

Kinda glad that isn't true.  Would never be able to live up the the first three.  To me would have just seemed like a George Lucas grab for money.

I went through my teens with these films.  I'd happily defend all three to my death.  Especially to most of the cynics on the web who jump the bandwagon of a few people saying the 2nd and 3rd were too preachy.
