it plays fine in WinAmp for me - you might need to update your codecs or something.   There ought to be some sort of option in Fraps to hide the cursor, I seem to remember something like that.

Messed around with the settings to get it to look better. Uploaded the new versions. Basically, that's at 400x300 and is 3MB and about 30 secs long. Each minute would be 6MB, so 5 minutes would be around 30 megs. Not bad at all. Let me know what ya think.

I would be willing to help with acting and ideas, this seems like it could be a lot of fun.

What is the purpose? Promotional or part of the challenge or both?
We could make two, one that is part of the challenge, and one that is a promo...

What is the plot? Is there a plot?
To show those who seek Zion the truth.

How will we convey meaning without dialogue? Or should we attempt dialogue?
I have a few suggestions. We could have full dialogue throughout (sort of like a fanfilm), we could have dialogue in the intro, or we could just have an announcer that says some things every so often.

What music should be used? The Furious Angels song?
Depends on the whole length and focus. If we're going with lots of dialogue, then we want music that has few lyrics. If we're going with no dialogue, then we want music with lyrics.

Who is interested in acting in it?
I can if I'm needed (as an extra), but I don't really have a desire to make a large presence in it.

Does anyone have any skills that they think they can add to the project?
Umm... I used to edit/produce a news short (about 3 mins or so, and trust me, nailing it down to under 3 minutes isn't fun) at my school, so I could help with editing if you need any help.

Comments:
WMV isn't the best codec. I suggest using AVI, or even MOV (MOV gives the best quality)

Ah, I was wondering what that room in TS was made for. And grim stole my idea for a song. I always thought Chop Suey would do good in a movie about the FA. I've got too much time on my hands.

We could always just make different videos for different purposes. For a promo, for the challenge, it would all help.

I wouldn't mind being an extra either, I'll help in any way I can.

What is the purpose? Promotional or part of the challenge or both?
I say we do a short promotional segment. We can show it before people enter the challenge, for example.

What is the plot? Is there a plot?
I say we should make a short video to show how cool it is to be a FA member. I like Grim's idea of the paused shot of characters + giving readouts of their stats. Simply add action and killing and a cool logo at the end with awesome music and you got yourself an amazing promotional video!

If we wanted to have a plot, we need an evil force. I don't think any of us should pose as a foe and I don't think any of our foes will be willing to be in our video.

How will we convey meaning without dialogue? Or should we attempt dialogue?
Tbone narrator. Something along the lines of his speech during the FA event.

What music should be used? The Furious Angels song?
Electronica! Beautiful. Simply beautiful. You have to listen to the whole song to realize the potential of this genre. I have done my share of short films and videos, and I realized the secret to the great video is the music. Choose the song, and while you listen to the song, you should be able to visualize the video. This video should be able to give you goosebumps; it should make you feel like FA is the force that will change the world.

Check it out. We might be able to take bits from these songs:
http://thefuriousangels.com/music/

Listen to 15 Shine [Full Vocal 12' Mix] and tell me that this song wasn’t made for us :p truly ~

Who is interested in acting in it?
I’d love to volunteer! :) If there’s room.

Does anyone have any skills that they think they can add to the project?
Sound editing (sound forge, cool edit)
Video editing (premiere, downloading FRAPS right now)
Special FX (flash)

We can host the video on www.TheFuriousAngels.com if you don't want it to eat up all the bandwidth of www.FollowTheAngel.org

Ok, great ideas guys. I've updated the test video a bit. I got AP and Grim to act in it and just threw together a quick edited version just to see the different cinematics we're capable of. Forgive me for the poor editing, etc. Just wanted something else to show. Of course, you cannot share this video with anyone. Doing so is a violation of NDA. Thanks!

I am willing to help in any way, and can be pretty good at coming up with interesting shortstories. I will try and find you all in game or on ts, and offer to help.

I like..... but everyone needs to turn off overbright. It just makes things look funny. (When Grim is leaving Mara Church.)

Updated it again. We wanted to test combat and some other things. As you can see, there's a lot of potential. This entire thing was done in just one night.
