This system is intended to be used for emergency scenarios, such as clan challenges and rare or time-limited opportunities. Those that abuse the system will be blocked!
We are pleased to announce the next generation in clan communication! Since Darkfall is a game where wars can happen at anytime, we felt it was necessary to be able to contact members at a moment's notice when needed. This system allows any clan member registered in the system to send a short text message alert to all clan members subscribed to the service. It's free and it should not spam your phone with anything. If it does, we will immediately end the service.

The only person who can see your phone number is me (Tbone), and I have no use for it. Once subscribed, you will be able to post a short 120 character message to the service. This will instantly be texted to everyone else who is subscribed. You will also receive any text message that has been posted to the service.
This is NOT a chat system and is available for emergency communication. The intenion is to get the word out quickly when our cities are challenged or something rare is happening. You should NOT use it just because you are lonely in game or someone ganked you. This service is OPTIONAL, but recommended for any who wish to give 100% to the success of the clan
I will add a link to the left menu, "send_alert!". That will be a quick link if you need to send out an alert quickly.

This is pretty fuckin' sweet. Reminds me of the old MxO days when I'd have AIM on my phone, and I'd get a notification when Morpheus or Tbone came online. :D
I can see it now. I'll get a text message at 2 in the morning, and I'll hurriedly leave the bed before donning my bathrobe.
"What's wrong? Where are you going?", my girlfriend will ask.
And I'll stop in the doorway, silhouetted by the dim hallway light. I'll look at her over my shoulder and say...
"I have to defend our city."
...This is going to be awesome.

LOL....Maniac, I suggest putting on a pair of dark shades as you say that line ala Horatio Kane of CSI: Miami.
Can we get a monthly test of this emergency broadcast system? (complete with the "...if this had been a real emergency" line?

pretty good thing .. but not avaible outside U.S. :( sad ... :/ I need to move to U.S. for darkfall and FA I guess, but I hope it will be worth it ;)

For me it's an easy way to communicate with my small circle and get information while I'm out and about. It's pretty handy. It's pretty much replaced myspace and facebook for me. Less work, more wanted information.

RE: text alerts, can you guys start sending out text alerts when interview time is approaching please? I know the times are posted here on the forums but having my pocket buzz would be a great reminder and I'm sure we'd have more people show up for interviews.

eventually vocal communication will be reduced to grunts and clicks for lack of use /lesigh
