I've been keeping an eye on it because I really like the concept of these multiplayer survival games.  I'm also waiting for DayZ to launch.  I'm just very hesitant to buy alphas and betas anymore.  Especially when the game's Steam page says the following:

Quote
We haven't totally decided where the game is headed ... please trust us

That's just not the kind of thing I want to hear from a developer who is asking for my $20.  :\

But I am interested to hear what you guys think.  I want to play it.  I'd just rather wait for a stable release.

It's Darkfall meets Minecraft meets DayZ. If you liked Darkfall, you'll like this. If you don't like FFAPvP full loot, this game is not for you.

The point of the game, so far, is to survive. But surviving is not easy. Everyone is an asshole, essentially, and the biggest assholes also have the best gear. You'll die a lot. You'll lose stuff you want to hold on to a lot. You'll establish what you think is a safe place and then someone will C4 their way in just to take all that wood you were proud of.

Surviving in the long run, however, is about building up your crafting recipes. Finding blueprints and research kits off of (currently) zombies will allow you to re-assemble your gear relatively quickly, even if your house gets raided. M4s and Kevlar go a long way compared to cloth and bow and arrows. Another big aspect of the game is the learning curve itself. You'll do things wrong several times before you figure out the way that will avoid becoming a target. And even then you'll still be a target. We've finally built a place that has survived over 24 hours, and we consider that a pretty big accomplishment!

It doesn't help that you can be raided and killed even while logged off.  Your body simply drops where you are, in a sleep state, and anyone can still get into your house and murder you in your sleep.

I tend to go through a cycle of accomplishment, fear, almost rage quit, and then determination. Running into someone else is always thrilling. Sound plays an important part of the game. Using a bow instead of a gun. Listening for footsteps outside of your house. Things like that.

There's me, Zero, Lith, Broin, Machete (from MxO!), and Likwidtek now all playing on a server together! We've got a nice little stronghold and getting resources and gear quickly. It won't be long before we have a nicely geared army to go seek revenge on Sage and his goons, as well as those Koreans! We'd love to be able to take our original home back!

It's very very early alpha.  So like... you will see people who can craft modern looking military weapons, wear kevlar armor stuff like that when almost all of those models and textures will eventually be replaced.  Zombies are in the game but they're being taken out too.

But the idea of the game is neat.  You basically start out naked with a rock in a very caveman like state.  You gather like you do in minecraft and craft all your items.  You also can be killed by players and mobs and lose all your shit.  Someone can come and wreck the house you built and take all your shit.

So it's cool in that it feels a little bit like darkfall and ultima online meets Dayz meets Minecraft.  But there's no skilling and leveling.  You just go out and do what you want.

The only sucky part of the game is you feel like you need to be logged in all of the time to protect your crap.  Plus anything you build needs to be maintained and kept up or it decays.  So there's a little bit of "cyberjob" built into it.

It's a really cool concept.  I have only played a few hours but it's pretty neat so far.  I run around naked and scared most of the time.
