New server is up at: liquiware.net
-
umm, not sure what the problem was, because I was gone all day, the problem is fixed now

Please God.... make them remove the TS block..... please God....

There's nothing wrong with the TS block that a little fsockopen check with a short timeout won't fix.
In the meantime, you can just hit stop (if you're on broadband) a second after the top banner appears and the right side of the cms will just be ignored.
Also. I dunno what's so hard about keeping a TS server up. Sheesh. :D
If anyone needs a gathering place in the meantime... try: (shutdown -g).
That's running on a dedicated server (used to be the tribes:v server) - although I am limiting the amount of bandwidth it is consuming at the moment... so I might crank the codec down if it gets laggy.
That server has been running flawlessly since it was booted... like a month ago or whatever with 99% net connection time. So. Until the permanent server comes up...

gillette, is it a computer that is up all the time with a static IP? If iso, is there any chance you'd be willing to host TS for us? My connection has been dropping like crazy for the last couple of days, and I don't know why. If not, is there anyone else with a static IP that would be interested?

No. Not forever. For a bit is no big deal, but I don't have the pipe to deal with it (esp when the game opens). It's a dynamic ip, but my lease is usually good for a month and the nameserver takes dynamic ip updates which I hit it with every hour - so... Anywho. I can help someone else set up a dynamic dns if someone has a fat cable pipe or better and a computer that can be on all the time. Old computer is cool, since a micro LMW sys can run TS linux server. Old comp saves electricity too.
The best possible world has it running on this server - or a distributed solution with maybe four people running it and this server handling failover swtiches... But I dunno what kind of options there are round these parts... That would correct the prob with the TS block as well, since on a lan (or local), it won't wait 30 seconds for a failure to open socket.

The problem with the TS block is that I set it to Theios' IP and then it changed. The script is trying to fetch info from a server that doesn't exist, so it brings up an error. The error keeps me from getting into the admin section to edit it, so until someone can help my bypass and get rid of it, we're stuck with a very annoying problem.

Leases are usually good until you switch off your computer for over 6 hours.
www.no-ip.org -> just one organisation that will turn your dynamic IP into a static (of sorts). Very handy if you run FTP on your PC (or even want to remote connect).
Presuming the TS block-admin problem you having Tbone is now fixed as I can see everything ok.
