Archive Construct Loading Zones
There have been some complaints about griefing in the Archive construct recently. While the Archive is meant to be a dangerous place—as it is as open a PvP area as there is in the game—we are aware of the overall impression this problem is giving players. We are already working on a fix for this issue.

In the meantime, please report harassment issues via the /ccr tool when you encounter them. Our goal is to make The Matrix Online a positive gaming experience for the entire community and your input is essential to achieving that goal.

Let's just make sure nobody complains about us. :)

Here's my two cents about it.

My first take on it was that the archive construct was an open PvP zone so basically that it was a free for all zone and that everything was permitted in there.  That is until I realized that my actions would reflect on the faction as a whole.  If I was not part of any clan I might go around the construct and do whatever I feel like, whether other players like it or not.  But I am in a clan therefore I must think of the consequences of my actions on the faction.

But that's just me.  I think we still have a few trigger-happy members in our faction and we need to keep an eye open for those guys.  There's already been a few complaints about us in the MxO forums.  Whether these complaints are legitimate or just fabricated to hurt the clan, let's not give anybody any ammunition.

We're a very visible and respected clan, let's keep it that way.

:)

Great statement, Coredump. And from the MxO forums, most complaints were for spawn killing other players and taunting which I'm sure are not what anyone in FA is doing. Furthermore, I wouldn't be associated with a clan that does that. :p  The worst I saw in the forums was FA members were dancing at the Merv & Machine spawn points; the last I heard THAT wasn't "unsportsmanship like". **does /dance 3**

Hey, we might as well have a party while we're waiting for the sentry spawns!

I think he is referring to people that jack into the construct.
They are still loading, and sometimes very slow, but people may attack them when they are still coming in.

This is not fair really - whats the point in going there if you die before you arrive (sorta)!
I agree with whats trying to be done here. I see no problem in killing folks that have walked away from the jack-in point, but killing them whilst they are coming in would make FA look very bad.

Please folks, don't attack anyone who has just entered the construct. Wait till they move away a bit.

Naturally, an obvious suggestion is to make a small "safe area" around the jack in point. However, most people would complain about this as it could be a place you run and hide at if you are in trouble.

The best solution to spawn killing would be to make people invincible while they spawn.  I guess the devs could show them as made of matrix code, just like what they see, while they spawn.  This way it would be idiot-proof.

Good idea, sort of like a personal safe zone, where you can't engage, but can't be engaged. I like the sound of that.

The forums had some good suggestions, most of which were said here. The safety zone should be accessable only once , then a 60sec wait before doing it again: kinda keeping the safe zone from being a place to run to when being beat up on. The best solution I heard is to make everyone un-attackable while loading. It's either that, or lvl 255 guards instead of 50. ugh

nah the guards should be at least 60 so that it can't be taken out "easily" and something like if a player is attacking another the guards wont interfere, so no one can go hiding in with the lvl 60's :)

I personally think 70 would be a better number.

why not 100?

Well 70 would be killable with probably 3, 50's maybe.
Lvl 100's would just be way to much but if your going for never killing them then sure 100.

So, are NPCs>No Kill Zone?
What stops a PC from sitting inside the killzone and waiting for people to leave, then chasing after them? Nada. =)
Therefore, NPCs>NKZs.
