Welcome everybody. I know you are eager to help with The Challenge. We all are. Part of the challenge will involve the potential role playing, in fact almost all of it will.
This is where we need everyones help!
What I am now looking for is certain sections of RPing from everyone. You just need to fill it in using the form below. It can be long or short, but please make sure you role play!

All questions have two different answers, not just yes and no!
YOU WILL NEED TO ZOOM IN / OUT to see the instructions and get a better idea.

This RPing is about the user wanting to join the Angels, not about hime entering the Matrix. This is about the user choosing a side, and a faction on that side. The role playing should be created in that manner.
Also, the questions should focus on roleplaying only, and not on challenges (like find me something in the matrix, and type it in). This is another part of "the challenge" as a whole, and will be inserted into the roleplaying later.

Make sure you zoom in Acidic and read the boxes.
That is very in depth. You'll need to be a good RPer to do this hehe I suppose I'll give it a go.

Yes, ok, if you don't have EXCEL you can download the EXCEL VIEWER which is free to see what is going on. I believe that this will NOT let you edit it, so you are still a bit stuck.
I went for EXCEL simply because it allows the details to be filled in, and allows me to set the layout with the arrows/boxes. Hopefully if you have EXCEL, you can see this as it was meant to be.
Acidic, I believe when you open it it starts ZOOMED OUT. If you zoom in (CTRL-MouseScroll) then you will see instructions. All the boxes with arrows pointing should be filled in (even tho it is a small box, it can contain a lot of text). Don't worry about completing it, but the more answers we get the better the challenge ;)

It is quite short with basic yes/no answers, this is fine, and looked quite easy to write ;)

Looks interesting. Anything specific you desire?
And what did you want for the answers? I see the directional arrows but I am not sure what the answers are that led them in those directions. Or do you just want to be sure that our statement leads the user to a yes or no question?

Yes, sorry.. I didn't write the examples, but I noted that they had some "open ended answers". These answers where not noted anywhere.
the left arrow means answer YES/OPTION, the right arrow means answer NO/OPTION.
If you want these "open ended" options, please supply what they should be, and indicate direction.
Attach this to the end of your question.
ie: YES="There is no correct answer"or"To the fullest" NO="Very Little"or"None at all".
This would give the user 4 options to choose, making it appear that there are more paths to take, and I can see what the responses should be to program them, rather than make them up and perhaps not make sense!
I will be mixing paths where possible, not all questions need to even mention the previous question, so could be "interchanged". Don't worry about this tho, just RP! :)

Actually, (and i know this is probably the wrong thread - not an attempt to highjack it) but does anyone want to get together in-game to perform a little RP to help in the development of RP our characters (for those who plan to RP in game).

Would it be cool if some of our questions included finding certain clues in the matrix? These seem that they would function differently...seeing how they would either be right or wrong. Would I need to make a 'No/OPTION' branch?

Great work on what you have so far Ket, but as I was reading though it only one thing stuck out in my mind .... I've already taken the red pill ... do I need to take another? I know I'm probably being a bit picky here but everyone that has an account in the game has basically taken the red pill already.
I'm not dissin what you have so far, because it looks great, but instead of showing me that I'm '... tumbling down the rabbit hole ...' maybe you could start at '... here's how deep the rabbit hole goes ...' if you catch the meaning there from the first movie.

That is an interesting point you make Treylar. If part of this challenge requires data from within the machine world (matrix) the person would have been redpilled all ready and have an RSI.
The difference would be how the person would play it. This challenge could be taken as a RP opportunity. New User is a bluepill seeking the truth and contacts someone from FA and then on to the challenge?

But, in order to contact someone from the FA wouldn't you have to know of the FA's existance? And given that, you have to know, "What is the Matrix?"
Most people that look into guilds are already existing players or have been playing for a week or two getting used to the game. That is more of where I'm assuming 99% of players will be. So instead the opening or beginning would look something like below.

It was used as an example as he was the first one to really do anything with the RP idea, so props to him! :D You make a valid point:

a little suggestion, take it as you will:
neo had several conversations with various characters about the power of choice, and the oracle pointed out that we cannot see past the choices we do not understand.
with that in mind, what was in that program so far was rather wordy, a lot like morpheus (props to that haha), but still not everyone was able to understand him (hence why i know so many people who are not fans of the movie, it's hard to enjoy something that you cannot understand).
what i am saying is, when we recruit potential angels, they should have a set goal already in mind. perhaps they are interested in us because they despise the ideals of the machines or of the merovingian, or both. perhaps they are annoyed with other factions. perhaps, as i once was, they have little knowledge of what is really going on except for the fact that we are opening a door to them. either way, they cannot truly see past the choice of joining the furious angels until they understand what we are about
my suggestion is to build the RP recruit challenge on a set of trees similar to the ability trees we have in game. the most basic ideals (red pill, blue pill, etc), are similar to the "awakened" abilities. instead of breaking off into "coder," "hacker," and "operative," the trees would break down into "machine," "merovingian," and "zionist." of course, we all know that not all zionists agree on everything, just like morpheus and commander lock disagreed, nor do all exiles, for i have a hard time believing little sati thought in the same manipulative ways as the merovingian.
if the questions that the potential answers seem to lean towards the machine or merovingian sides, they will come to a labyrinth of dead ends (kind of like how the sniper tree is currently useless because concealment doesn't work). if the potential wants to become an angel that much, they will have to prove that their ideals align with ours, which in case we would need to agree on those as well.
i'll let you guys chew on that for a bit ... i need to go eat ;)

www.openoffice.org = a place to get a software package that can create excel spreadsheets, powerpoint stuff, y'know everything microsoft office offers? Open Office offers all that for free, so everyone check it out!

c'mon folks, I've only received one so far.
I created OTHER answers for each question, instead of a YES/NO answer.
I was once a stranger. I certainly walked the path. I give you a choice. Where are you wanting to go? Back to the beginning, or to the end?
I guess I want to reach the end… or Everything must return to the source eventually.
C'mon people. You need to see PT2 as well.

I was creating another grid today, and found myself writing this RP question, which can also explain (perhaps) the choice Morpheus has made in the game:
Which do you hold as a higher value, Zion or Freedom?
- Zion. The people of Zion want freedom, hence Zion will give both.
- Freedom. Zion is a cause as such, but may not necessarily meet its goal, which is freedom. I can only hope that I can help it achieve Zions goal.

RIght the database code is now in place to input the RP data. So I need the filled sheets! I have only received the sheet from TWO people so far.
Please could you indicate if you are actually doing this, the prototype is beginning to take shape. Please people, its not often you'll see me begging!!

I promise I'll try to get it done, Ketamininja. At first it seemed big and daunting. With your elaborate examples, it seems much more minute. I know you've been working really hard on all this stuff, so the least I can do is fill out this simple form. Thanks for the voracious work ethic.

75% complete... Just one more part of the tree to go and I'll be done... I should have you a rough completed copy either tonight or tomorrow at the latest. I'll then be going back and reviewing everything for a final polish this weekend and should have the final copy at your disposal first of next week...
