Boredom got the best of me. Here are some ideas I jotted down for future events we host.
Who:
1) Zionist Only
2) “Mix” all Zionists, Mervs, and Machinists
3) Alliance Potentials (perhaps one night each for Zionists, Mervs, and Machinists, if any of the second two)
4) Angels Only (to let new Angels meet with the rest of the crew, a “family gathering,” if you will)
When:
1) Monthly
2) Bi-monthly
3) Quarterly
4) Friday and Saturday nights seem best, start letting guests in at, say, 5 or 6 FA time, start events an hour later
**Attendance seems to improve with consistent timing, so we should lock a time and keep it for all events of the same nature**
Where:
1) Various Clubs
2) Random coordinates to a specific building or open area that is NOT a club (more recommended for open parties)
Why:
1) Promoting
2) Recruiting
3) Alliance Forming
4) Social Gathering
What:
1) Buy an Angel (similar to the bachelor/bachelorette auction)
a. Level 1-10 = 20 minutes of work
b. Level 11-20 = 30 minutes of work
c. Level 21-30 = 45 minutes of work
d. Level 31-40 = 1 hour of work
e. Level 41-50 = 1½ hours of work
**Depending on how many people we have at each level, dedicate a certain time frame to each category**
**Perhaps after the Angel Auction is over, open the floor to other persons who want to auction themselves; along those lines, sponsor Merv Auctions or Machinist Auctions (sponsor, not necessarily host)**
**Perhaps instead of working for the winning bidder, the winner receives a “date” with the Angel they bought; give the prize of the reservation of a club for an evening**
**Angels cannot bid on other Angels; it’s not fair to those who do not have 4 billion info (haha)**
2) Raffles (since it was so successful the last time, why not make it tradition?)
a. Raffle 1: Based on previous raffle (to calm suspicion on how we get this much money to give out, perhaps charge $1,000 per raffle ticket, assign a number to each ticket, just for kicks to make it more realistic). Prizes: $100,000 ... $250,000 ... $500,000 ... $1,000,000 ... $2,500,000 ... $5,000,000 ... $10,000,000 ... $25,000,000 ... $50,000,000 ... $100,000,000 ... $250,000,000 ... $500,000,000 ... $1,000,000,000
**This should also be on a schedule, perhaps one drawing every half hour or so (perhaps cut out the few two amounts); this helps keep people around for the night **
b. Raffle 2: 50/50 Raffle: Players donate however much info they want (make a minimum of like $1,000 or so), we keep track of the money given to us, the winner receives half of the raffle money we received. We can donate the other half to something, perhaps have another drawing to donate it to another faction’s bank.
3) Speeches
a. These can be inspirational, humorous, whatever; perhaps start out the event with serious, motivational speeches, then near the end of the night have improv speeches for humorous purposes.
b. DEMAND quiet while speeches are given. This means pause the raffles, games, and bartenders advertising the best drinks (haha). Inflict harsh punishment on those who violate the quiet.
4) Plays: reenact simple one-acts, like a scene from Romeo and Juliet, a scene from one of the Matrix movies, a scene from Star Wars, anything. We can turn it into a game, as well. Participants can whisper guesses as to what the scene is from, correct answers will be given a prize.
5) Casino: it was a success at the last event, so why not stick with things that work?
6) Dance-Off: this can be a bit difficult since someone can /dance and walk off, leaving their RSI for hours. Perhaps set up teams, made up of x amount of players. The players have to agree on the same dance, we set up a time, say, 15 minutes, and two teams dance off. The more synchronized and creative team goes on to the next round.
7) Best of RSI:
a. Best Personality (ask silly, goofy “Miss America” questions, just for kicks)
b. Best Dressed
c. Cutest Couple (maybe not, we’re all biased haha)
d. Most Clever Alias
8) Prizes: info, weapons, clothing, abilities. Select coders to make an array of prizes. Make a private site with lists of prizes with small thumbnail pictures (clothing) and info on each item (buffed items, weapon requirements, etc.). The site can be password protected, and the password can be given through whispers to those inquiring of the list.
AAAAAAND that's all, folks! Leave some feedback and ideas and we can start working on another event! Yay!

Ouch, that seemed like it took a long time to type out, and to be met by such rejection. Oh well, I don't really mind, seeming as I will be asleep for most of the parties..... ever. :(

I always try tp stay up for the partys. I take a nap for awhile on the nights I have to stay up late. Although saying that I only got 2 hrs sleep before I had to go to work on the Zion Mixer. Went to bed 4 Am GMT lol. :D

I think we should talk with some of the people outside of the angels and begin some sort of player run storyline. We could combine the mature writing minds of the Angels and the cool members of the Collective with a talent for writing or something along those lines. Since the real stuff wont happen 'til the game gets released (Never) we may as well forge our own. Some of this could fit into the party idea, somehow work RP sessions into them and then write them someplace..

...uh wow (there's almost a hijack in progress, time to save the day).
All brilliant *applauds* #6 we could shout out to change move - its up to the teams to syncro themselves to the same dance, that would get rid of people leaving the keyboard ;)
It would be GREAT to hold events in PvP areas, there must be SOMEWHERE... It could really help build a community - the real world is a place where fights can break out in bars, most people wont tolerate it.. either that or bar brawl. Anyway, I'll make that one more suggestion then:

Could have sort of "boxing Matches" where ppl surround 2 duelers and bet on them and such

Or even roleplay out bar fights at events to make things interesting.

I like that idea.
Have a commentator give the stats on each 'boxer' - but not height & weight, more like level, class, & loadout. Set the odds for each fighter & take bets. We could almost profit from it if things go well...
Set it up in a prestigious location, like a dojo or in Debir Ct where the burly brawl took place.

Ok, I need some help all of you, but you have to promise not to laugh. Last night after the "Love your Faction Night" I was rp'ing with Lelyel from TIO and well, we are getting married (I SAID NO LAUGHING). I need help planning that sort of thing, I am pretty sure that even IRL the groom has no idea what to do. I was hoping for at least a big turnout from our faction, so if that is all you can offer, it is much appreciated. She is going to do her part in trying to come up with some ideas and planning and so forth. I would love to hear what some of you think, I have never been a huge rp'er until I met her, so I really need ideas and help please. Thanks.

first you need to plan your wedding party between the two of you. get yourself a best man, maid of honor, 3-5 groomsmen and 3-5 bridesmaids. these guys stand up on the alter and look cool. that's about it.
date. you need a date. and a time. and a church. there are 2 ingame that i know of (mara i think and mannsen?). then a reception hall: pick the club of your choice. decide if you want a crazy reception (get a club like jacob's ladder) or a more formal, classy reception (club deus-ish).
mmmm food i don't think you need to worry about. i mean, eating in the matrix. psh, who does that?
um ... invitations. obviously you will be inviting all of your angels (you'd better!) but besides us, decide who you want to come, write out a cute little email (you could even make one in photoshop or hire someone to do it for you) and send it out to everyone. if you want this to be small, do that, but if you want it to be huge, you might even want to post the invitation/pic on the main boards.
pick wedding colors. and if you pick pink i will personally assassinate you before the wedding. i will rez you, of course, after you choose another color. :) but, get some good colors going. bridesmaids usually wear the wedding colors and groomsmen usually just tuxes. guys can probably use the uniform and then whatever the wedding colors are, find that color vest. omegus you're gonna want a black tux, most likely, to stand out from the groomsmen. otherwise, you ear the white and the groomsmen wear black. the whole point of the wedding party is to make the bride and groom stand out and look bitchin. your girl's gonna want to find a nice white dress .... oh wait there really aren't many of those, are there? well, if she's not a virgin she wouldn't be wearing white anyway (don't jump the gun before the wedding dude *wink*) ... but white is traditional anyway. the only real white stuff is the female uniform (kind of short for a wedding) and the v-neck thingy (longer, but kind of shows a lot of cleavage) ....
OR!! you could even do an international-like wedding. everyone wears gis. preferably the long gis; those look better. and then for the reception you can wear the short gis to strut your stuff on the dance floor.
reception ... you'll need music. you need to have a song for the bride and groom to start off the dancing. then usually there is a song for the bride to dance with her father and the groom to dance with his mother (i have a couple of really good, cheesy sappy songs for that, but make sure the bride's father and the groom's father are in the matrix first ...). you'll need the classic wedding songs ("celebrate," "electric slide," "cha cha slide," "shout," "we are family," "twist and shout," "with arms wide open," "red red wine," "lady in red," "love shack," "the way you look tonight," "i do (cherish you)," "truly, madly, deeply," "when a man loves a woman," "wonderful tonight," "chapel of love," "two piña coladas")
by no means do you have to use any of those songs, they're just what are traditionally heard at a wedding (i googled "popular wedding songs" haha)
now, for the music you either want to have RFZ do that, or else i know natuan had the redpill radio of ours for a while, i don't know if he still does that, but it would be cool to have one of our own doing the music.
you can choose to do the garter and bouquet toss; you could do an emote to throw your hands up (make it look like you're throwing something over your head), have someone assign numbers to the people catching and do /random.
bachlor and bachlorette parties!! set up a day prior to the wedding (perhaps the week before) and have all the girls in one club and the guys in another, hire strippers, get drunk, do whatever. usually these parties are restricted to the wedding party members and close friends. do NOT invite your mother. unless, of course, she's a stripper, in which case you might want some therapy ...

What about the virtual divorce ? Who will keep the virtual house ? Who will get the virtual furniture ?
Will a virtual lawyer buy himself a virtual yacht by working on this virtual divorce ?

anyways i had to say that since it is a tribute to a great movie that just happens to be exactly what we are planning right now. Anyways congrats and hope max is there because that would complete the whole "traditional" bachelor party
