Title: Keanu Reeves saves the human kind, again.
Post by: Anonymous on January 28, 2005, 08:01:46 am
Looks like Keanu is getting typecasted.

After the Devil's Advocate and the Matrix trilogy, it looks like Mr. Reeves will be involved in another messiah/God/Hell type movie again.  I guess he's good at that kind of flick :)

This looks like a good movie.  It's intriguing at least.

I guess the big fat checks WB got from the Matrix movies made them think that maybe they should work more with Keanu :D

Yeah I saw previews for Constantine awhile ago...it looks really badass...plus the little bit of story line they throw at you in the preview seemed fairly intriguing as well.

Both of which look very nice. I like the whole "lets turn this comic book into a movie" idea. Unfourtunatley, DC comics thought they could do this aswell a while back. They were wrong.

I think the only DC hero worth making movies about is Batman...they need to make movies based off the Batman vs. Predator comic books...now THOSE were badass comic books...speaking of which, have any of you guys seen the short film called Batman: Deadend?  It's like a 10 minute movie in which Batman is chasing The Joker and 2 Aliens show up from nowhere it would seem and one of 'em grabs The Joker...just when things couldn't get odder, a Predator comes and kills the other Alien that was about to attack Batman.  There's like a 3 or so minute fight between the Pred and Batman, Batman wins (obviously) the fight, and as Batman is recovering from the fight, like 4-5 more Preds show up to tango with him...and that's where it ends...it's such a godly short movie, I seriously hope the guy who made it actually makes a full length movie from it...because there was so much detail in that 10 minute movie it was unbelieveable.

John Carpenter is badass.
This new adaptation looks great!

I read a quick "60 second" interview with Fishbourne about this movie, he briefly talked about MxO and how it was so cool!

Yea, I saw the new Assault on Precinct 13 yesterday, that movie kicks ass. It's been adapted to today's society though. No gang.

I'm really looking forward to constantine.  I love Keanu in all the "messiah-ish" movies.  Yeah, Assault on Precinct 13 looks pretty sweet too!

I just saw Constantine.

Here's what I thought of it.

It's some kind of mix between Blade, Van Helsing, The Devil's Advocate and the Exorcist.

The special effects are good, they support the story without taking too much place.

Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz do a good job.

There's a lot of action and the story is ok but something is missing.

Not a bad movie but not great either.  It's worth seeing.  Once.

I didn't hate it but at the same time it left me kind of cold.

I give it 7 out of 10.

Has anybody else seen it ?

I'll probably rent the movie when it comes out on DVD.  I'm not very impressed with Keanu Reeves as an actor, and didnt like what I saw of him in the previews.  I hope all the other uber actors make it better though.

Just got home from watching Constantine.  I think Keanu did a decent job of acting, and pulled off the whole superhero without superhuman abilities, other than his sight.  I know what you mean Core.  I was satisfied, but now wowed.  I would've liked either more action with less talking, or more talking with a scarier (read as "more like Excorsit") storyline.  The CG was great, but it did take away from the story because it took away from the mystery of the occult to see the demons from the beginning.

Overall, 8/10.

P.S. I was personally offended that they start the movie running over a Mexican.  Viva la raza!

Yeah good point Enoc.

It's well known fact that people are always more afraid of things they don't see than of things they do see.  The Blair Witch Project is a perfect example of that.  You never really see anything precisely but it's scary because you imagien the worst, whatever that is for you.

What bugged me is that it feels "patchy".  I thought that there were a few "loose ends".  Some things should have been explained better.

I started playing the game last night.  It looks pretty good until now.  From what I've heard it's the kind of game that's good enough to make you want to see the movie if you haven't seen it.  Usually it's the movie that makes you want to play the game.  I love being able to go to hell and back, literally.

Anyway, Constantine is better than Little Nicky ;)
