Our first official video is ALMOST done! I think the only thing left is to adjust some audio levels in the final battle. I managed to get the NEW and IMPROVED version uploaded! I think you'll agree with me when I say the combat is MUCH better. Enjoy this newest version:

And as a bonus: Tour of Club Hel (http://liquiware.net/tbone/ClubHel.wmv)
Edit: We're redo-ing the whole movie, so check for the new and improved version soon!

I still think it's a bit choppy (not to diss you or anything). What I will say is yes it is IMPROVED and the combat is agreeably better than it was. :) The vid looks ace and the FA logo at the start looks tight
-
Sorry I wasn't there Friday, Saturday, or Sunday for the meetings / filming...my sister came over from California and I haven't seen her in just under a year so I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible...but in any event the movie was badass as hell...just alittle choppy when the whole fighting stuff started to happen...and does anyone else's sound start to fuck up when the whole church fight starts? Like instead of hearing the punches and such I'd hear some kind of scratching noise...it's kinda weird...but otherwise it's a damn good movie Tbone!
-
Looking ALOT tighter, but ill agree with aaura about the combat being a bit choppy still :(
Apart from that it was amazing :)

I'm bugging out big time on it. The sound is glitchy but the slow parts are gone now. (Running WinAmp5)
-
Looks sharp. The fight scene is better.
Can you imagine what it would look like without the lag ?
As some other guys heard, there's a lot of scratching or "popcorn" during the second song. It seems to happen every time there a fighting move.
I think a few more tweaks and we're there.
-
yah kick ass, keep up the good work.
-
/points Hey! That's me! Ehh, anyways...
Still a bit choppy. What vid card and how much memory you have? I'd be willing to test out some scenes on my comp sometime. Much better though. I'm in class so don't have any audio, but will watch AND listen as soon as I get a chance to.
It's comming along great.
-
Damn, wtf. Still choppy? You guys are picky! I think it's 100x better. If you have the old video, compare the two combat scenes. :(
I'm afraid unless we magically teleport everybody by pairs to individual rooms, the fighting is not going to get much smoother. I just watched it again and I don't notice hardly any choppiness. Definitely not enough to take away from the "cool" feel..
I'm aware of the church audio. I mentioned how I needed to adjust those levels up at the top. If you guys aren't satisfied with the final product, we can scratch it and someone else can give it a go.
-
Yeah it's WAY better than before, i can deal with the choppyness of it now but the one thing that bugs me is how the video appears to be going about 2 frames per second as you are leaving the building with the rest of us. other than that the rest of the choppyness is fine and really doesn't take off too much feel of the movie, of course it would be best to have it as least choppy as possible but to ask something like that would be ... well.. picky for lack of a better word
-
I in no way meant to discredit how cool the video is. It is indeed 100x better than the first go-arounds.
It would be fine as it is, but it's not perfect as far as the 4fps in some of the interlock goes. Like when the bad guy HJs off you see him crouch, then he disappears. I'm wondering if it's just too quick to capture the frame, or if there are a few missing.
Your right TBone, this is nit picking, and it still gets a thumbs up from me-just with some notice to detail.
-
I think I'm done with this video once I edit the audio. The solution to the fps would be for me to lower some of my video settings, increase my FRAPS settings, and play around with that. We'll experiment with that for the next video...
-
haha i personally like grim's emote "speaknoevil" when tbone is fighting the exile in the church
looks great, alot better...boy that was fun filming at 2 am last night....(almost missed world civ quiz sooo tired) j/k j/k...
the only suggestion i haven tbone is at the very end when it says Matrix Online 2005 i think it pops up to fast and choppy. perhaps fade it? also perhaps a graphic instead of general font?
alright good stuff!
-
yeah, that's a great emote.

I think the product we have now, minus the sound that T said he's working on, is far better than the original demo he gave us. The lag/chop in the fight scene should be expected & is minimal when you consider how much data is flying around in that are while it's being filmed.
The fight scene in the VN vid is of 2 people - only 2. We could be lagless too if you want to sacrifice the show of force in numbers that is the FA. How many people were in the fight in the park, like 10? It could easily be a Tbone video, but that has never been what we as the FA are about. Granted, I'd like to have a flawless WB production to release to the world of MxO but the reality is that with ours & T's resources & Monoliths servers - This is what it is...& it's not bad at all.
I'm not even in the video, but on 56k like I am, it would make things worse so it's best that I stay clear during filming. But I'd hate to see T put the umteen hours into the making of this for everyone to say, "Is that all I get? You need to do this, & I would do that..." when all you get is what was probably every waking minute of T's freetime for the last week & a half. Not trying to drop any seeds of anger into the forum here but I hate seeing someones work get picked apart...
That's all for my little rant...sorry for the angst in my post but I needed to vent. 4 people have posted since I started this...lol The only constructive offering I can make for the next one is get out of the slums/barrens as it seems to be the most congested area and probably had a lot to do with the lag/chop.
Oh...and I like the video a lot, did I mention that?
-
O_O HOLY CRAP THIS IS ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!
It's better then any official movie I have ever seen for MxO. That was VERY well done.
-
Yes, this video is alot better then the earlier one. The sound is still bit roguh in some places but you said your gonna fix that :)
-
Other than the video had a little lag at some areas (which wasn't your fault, it was the MxO server) and the sound of the fight scene at the chruch (which you said it is going to be fixed), I like the video a lot. Good job!!! :D
-
Hey Tbone, I think the choppy sound has to do with a codec issue. I ran it at school and it worked fine after dling a codec.
-
I just laughed so hard when I saw Tbone randomly tackle I think it was Arch, man that is one great video. Kills my speakers a bit and yeah it's a lil choppy, I reckon it would be sweet to film a bit in International maybe. Apart from that you have the two gracious words, HOLY SHIT.
-
Very much improved, the popping at the end is basically all I found was -really- bad. Othere than that it is an excellent first video!
Also, Tbone did you say that your were in 1600x1200 mode when recording? If so it could be what is causing the excessive fame lag. Lower down to like 1024x768 would be just as good for what resolutions you are editing down to and you will probably get better frame rates.
-
Yeah, next film I'm gonna tweak the settings. I think it's possible to get more action if you lower the settings, but the next few movies are probably gonna be more cinematic than action packed. One plan I have is a little montage of each ship to introduce us in different locations. I think that'd make for the best promo.
Also, I'll fool around with the audio and see what the problem is. I might just have to up the audio quality, though the music sounds fine. Hmm...
-
You could get some of the naked pictures from me and HD for Decerto promotion :P If I had fraps I wouldn't mind doing a little bit of filming.. Whatever is cool, but definately have a few people from each ship in some areas or something.
-
besides the sound issue, the combat scenes were "omfg u r teh uber 1337" better, mostly for the way that you just put it all together. the only tiny detail i noticed that was just me being picky cuz i do this with all movies (heh) was you shot me running away from the railing, then shot you guys jumping up to the organ, and i'm still by the railing in that shot, and the next shot i'm running downstairs. one of those i-wouldn't-have-noticed-til-someone-said-something things, just a thought for future shooting. even so, you da man!! :D
-

Yeah, I realized that when I was editing, but I figured no one would really notice except maybe me and...well...the actors =P
-
DO you happen to have a copy of the video with the sound from in game all without the music?
-
I could make one. Why?
-
Just talked to you. Nevermind!
-
I have to say, this turned out exceptionally well. As for choppy portions and audio errors...I don't encounter any of that on my system. The editing is very nice. Smooth transitions, consistent scene cutting, flowing story arc. I think it came out exceptionally well. Good job, T

nah man, not at all! there is choppyness - but i doubt its nothing that couldn't be fixed or improved! its friggin awesome if you ask me!
