Just let me play for free (no monthly charge) and that'd be enough for me. Although, being paid to play would definately justify my desire to spend hours playing this game to my family and friends.

Well, in all seriousness, we have a shot at it, if he speaks the truth. Of course, they can reverse the decision at any time. They haven't ruled out the possiblility that they might pay us. They may well rule it out and might not pay us ;)
However, I think we should be diplomatic with this.
As mentioned, playing for FREE would be a bonus in itself. Pay me? Sure, would be great, but if Tbone could go back to Jason and say "We don't want paid, just give us free accounts", then we might have more chance of being "part of the team" at MxO, or at least show that we are more than willing to be part of that team without being "bribed" to play.
Naturally, if the Collective get paid, we want to get paid, but just something to consider.

I think (and kinda hope) that they might either mean contributing money to the faction as a whole or paying just the officers or something. If they were to pay all members then they'd be opening themselves up to increased spending every time we decided to recruit someone. Also, there would be the problem of tons of people trying to join just to get some money.

Well, looking at it from a business stand point, there should be like the majorly active portions of the faction (Such as captains, and then first mates, and then the most active of the crews) getting paid, while the remainder of the faction gets free accounts. Something they would have to consider, however, is that in order to push a storyline, it would require people know and understand that that is what you are there to do.
Let's face it, if a Furious Angel walked up to "DaN30Dude" and said "I have a message from the three-winged angel. Follow the silver bullet, to the fourth spatial dimension, and wait there" (Translates to, "I have a message from Seraph. Take the subway to Stamos Northwest (HyperSphere Monument (HyperSpheres/Cubes exist in four spatial dimensions by the way), and wait for the messenger), they're just going to sit there and stare at you funny or be like "WTF n00b?!!?!111?!11one!/1" and then spout off that we aren't able to do that, we're not allowed, etc etc. Some of the "GM" abilities would probably have to be accessible to our higher up people, like say the captains of hovercrafts.
Or at least, in my opinion, that's the best way to go about it ethically, and financially

Something about being paid to play kindof discourages me....I don't know, It'd be a dream come true, but then again, if i'm forced to change something or do something the way the devs have said to do it I have this tendency not to want to. Which is why I left photography, but thats another story. However, I do think it would be an honour for all the hard work that many "Angels" have put into the faction and there actions should be rewarded, but I think the reward we've already been given :)

Well nothing deicieded yet but if they did pay someone to do a certain action to help swing the story the way they need it, then its to help out the game. Although it may or may not go wth what you believe in the end in helps continue the game. There are of course extreem actions that would probly not sit well with anyone but I'm sure we'll hit that hurtle if it comes our way.
If they do pay us in chocolate I hope to god they package that right, nothing worse then a melted pack of chocolate goo.

Well if you stop and think about it, it kind of makes sense. They are wanting this game to be extremley interactive, but they can't have Morpheus and other characters running around all the time, it would loose that special flavor. But established groups like FA and TC and VN can be the mouthpeice for the specific factions. And to be honest it would be cheaper for them to pay us or make our gaming free than employee a bunch of people to do it, who may not even be recognized in game.

Yeah but theres stuff we wouldn't want to do and then theres stuff we're not willing to do. Were that line is I don't know, but if it comes up (big if as theres no garentee that this will happen) then we'll have to figure it out from there. As I'm a whore for money, I can't see this happening but who knows.

I like the idea of just no monthly payment. That would show that they like what we're doing and approve of the moves we make ingame. And they wouldn't have to worry about actually SPENDING money.

tivod, obviously youve never taken a bath in choclate...its heaven. not that ive ever done it....mmmm :) onto other things, getting paid to play would remind me a lot of being sponsored....as long as its pretty good cash or at least they set us up with some kick ass gear. im sure if the devs asked us to do something i think we'd do it anyway. but paying to play would be nice, getting free gear would be better, depends though.

i personally think that getting paid would be a bit much. i mean, yes, i'm sure warner bros are loaded, but i think free accounts would be just like paying us $15 a month, right? the only thing is the paperwork to be done for new members haha. but then, free accounts seem kind of cheap lol. so ..... free accounts, plus free whatever mxo promotion stuff they make? for example, obviously they have trailers up and i've even gotten pop-up adds from AIM (the first pop-ups i didn't mind!!), but if they do posters, tshirts, hats, etc. we should get those as well. i would take free clothes over getting paid. cuz i would just use the money for food. and we all know how much i eat .... lol

We feel if a group like Furious Angels sides with Locke, it will create the tension needed. Of course, we can't force you to do this, so we're going to bribe you and your faction by letting you play free for a year. All you'd have to do is take a slightly different Zionist stance. Think of yourself as being an extension of the staff. We'll be making some decisions for you, but your guaranteed to be a major player in the storyline plus you play for free!"

I'm using a 10 yr old Creative mic. It SUX!!!!! I need a headset so I can hear the chatter in my headset that would be nice.

well i got a around 5 year old one and i dont really know if it sounds bad nobody has told me if my mic is all jacked up or not but if my mic is distored or anything just tell me because i will go get a new one because i kinda want to get one anyway but if this one works just fine im not going to mess with it.

i had a logitech one that just kinda fell apart in my hands one day, so i went out and got myself a 10 dollar mic, seems to work fine, its gonna have lots of dust on it when i get back though.

I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so I'd be perfectly content with just being able to play for free, if offered that. Now, if there were more freebies being offered, or actual money on top of a free account, sweet! But yeah, it's one thing to have a free account for being a part of the storyline and pushing it one way (our way), it's another to pay/bribe us into changing our ideals to suit their needs lol.
Also some free swag wouldn't be too terrible of an idea either :P
