Hmmn what a clever little trojan.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4580389.stm
The program, once it installs itself unbeknown to a user, triggers the download of an encoder application which searches for common types of files on a computer and networked drives to encrypt.
The trojan replaces a user's original files with locked up ones, so that they are inaccessible. It then leaves a "ransom note" in a text file.
Instructions to release the files are only handed over when a ransom fee is paid, according to Websense.

wow.... Firefox for teh win. just wish i hadnt uninstalled MSIE when i made the switch. the idea seemed logical at the time, if MSIE is essentially an exploit in and of itself, why not get rid of it, but now i cant get new virus definitions.... fucking mcaffee.

I like Opera better because of it's functionality-primarily the way it handles tabbed pages and mouse gestures differently than Firefox. Firefox is great when Opera has issues with some java and other apps. IE is a use-only when a site is specificly designed for it, and that's all.
-
yeah, the only time I even use IE anymore if for pages that use active script and such, and ONLY if I know it's a legit page.
-
I agree fuse. Opera all the way!
-
only time i use ie is when i want to look at the crew roster.... firefox doesn't allow me to view them, but i'll have to check out opera...
-
Well, yeah ok, I'll have to change that since the stats say most people use IE.
-
I use Firefox (see below) and the Crew Roster works just fine for me.
Lelyel, go <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/developer/">here</a> where you can download a nightly release of Firefox that those of us who participate in development use. These are usually very stable and when you download from here, you'll actually be downloading the Alpha version of the next major browser that's based on Firefox: Deer Park.
Enjoy!

Zsinj, can you confirm that the <td onClick''> tags work on FF?
The crew_roster module has them if you go to the ROSTER section and click on someone's name; it should take you to their profile. I hadn't tested in FF, Lelyel was the only FF feedback I was getting :)
-
i can view the crew roster with firefox, but can't click on names
-
im using FF 1.0.4, and when i view the crew roster cant click on names, and on the hovercraft list cant click on hovercraft names
-
I do see they the expected results are different between MSIE and FF 1.0.4+. I'll do a bit of research and report back on this bug/feature.
It could be intentionally done this way since MSIE is made with such weak code, a lot of bad (can't be W3 validated) websites still work in MSIE. I'll check this out for you Ket.
