Title: AIM bot?
Post by: Anonymous on June 27, 2005, 07:28:46 am
well i know FFZ was coding one of these, but i was just thinking that it would be cool if there was one for FA as well. would serve so many good uses if it was used right. like if we needed support for a major battle, just send out an AIM message for those not in a single TS channel / ingame already. for the past week i wasn't on teamspeak because i needed a new sound card, and i was thinking of other ways that a message could be given. most people log into thier *@thematrixonline.com account on aim when not ingame already. it could be restricted to users with a certain access levels (like captains), or just given to all. i think we could police ourselves from not abusing it. just throwing an idea out there because organization is nice.

Yea those are pretty neat,  is there a way you could make a support aim bot? So people in the challenges can message it, select the riddle they are on, and the specific riddle they have, and then it has a prewritten hint for them? Like what ket is doing on the forums, except so you dont have to wait for a day or so =P Just a thought.

You could but the would have to type the answer in the way is was coded in. But It is a very good idea if we could get it to work.

A day or so? *Ahem*

Kosila is your perl man.
Something else that has been touched upon before... Ratio was thinking this for ingame integration with the coordinate systems.

Um, Teamspeak? Tell me. Don't tell an AIM bot to tell me. That's why we have TS. If you want a coordinate thing, that's one thing, but don't start thinking of excuses of how to avoid me on TS!

lol. well i still think it would be nice, but not vital. what about those times when we are away, with TS minimized. just having a msg pop up with something for us to see when we get back... or if we are actually doing something else. ah well, c'est la vie.

so since i made the thread, i can hijack it... anyone good with freehand?

back on track for a moment tho, it would be nice to have it integrated, you could look up a heck of a lot.
Current;y you need an operator with a fast machine / not logged in to check coords and perhaps other info.

TS is a must for teamplay.

A mass AIM bot wouldn't really be for us because we do utilize TS. It would be for other factions/faction leaders. They could ask to become contacted in case of happenings by FA.

Which brings up the question-why haven't we ever conceived and planned something like FFZ? It certainly would have gotten our name back in the community moreso. I mean, FA is really like 50%+ of FFZ anyways, but it would have been interesting to head something like that.

I think the story was is that we were going to do something exactly like it, but we were waiting to see if FFZ would go through.

yea, i think they had it in the works for quite a while. thats why we never took part/payed attention to the acension (or whatever) society. it wasn't till that meeting that members of that society had with FA that h1 really begin putting the finishing touches on FFZ. FFZ's purpose is like the idea tbone had all along... someplace to just relay information, and for everyone to be equal. me personally, i dont like the ranking system they have in play tho.
