Title: Google Earth
Post by: Anonymous on June 29, 2005, 06:17:58 pm
There's an interesting new thing by Google out called Google Earth...basically you can look at high resolution Satellite Imagery of any location in the world.

Just so you know, you can crank the texture detail on this sucker up to 1024x1024. And for those of us that have 2GB of RAM, it can use up to 982MB of it for the texture caching. It's pretty damned sweet, and can be found here: http://earth.google.com

Haha i just now noticed they have preset loacations you can check out, and area 51 is one of them, and what i did i had to first look up on the net where it was exactly and then keep dragging it around and zooming till i finally found it.

High resolution satellite imagery of Mount St. Helens, rendered in 3d from within the Google Earth software. 'Nuff said. Pwnd. And other adjectives of coolness.

While you look at it in its 3-D Rendered glory, I'll just go look out my back windows and see it in it's realism.

Aha, but the true question is can you prove how old the photos are? I can because the area I live in just had a Costco build (In the last 7 months) and the photos dont show it.
