The Illuminati decided to become a multi-gaming guild. Most of them went to SWG. This basically killed their MxO team, and the die hard MxOers decided to jump ship and see if we couldn't take them in.
Jaenus (Spartan) talked to me a little bit about them. The three he knows that are trying to join are Haelios, Blueleapord, and Ademaro.
He says Ademaro is online quite a bit, but usually quiet. The name sounds familiar. I think Ademaro applied to our faction at one point - maybe he was even in it. Can someone check on this? Blueleapord is young (13), but mature for his age and could make a good RPer. Haelios I've talked to myself quite a bit. Seems like a decent enough guy, so I went ahead and put him in line for an interview.
Anyway, given their current circumstance, do you guys wanna give these three a bypass code for the challenge? I know Blueleapord has been trying and got through a few of them. Not sure about Ademaro.

Blue is on 8 of 11, I know because for 7 of the 8 I helped him. Ademaro complete the challenge and was declined because he seemed dull. I think we did that interview about 2 months ago. Of course I could go get the original as well.
All in all, I don't have a problem with them getting a code, they still have to have a interview.

the only one of these guys i'm familiar with is haelios, and he seems kind of nutty haha. i'm not sure about the rest, but i think it depends on how those people have treated us during the "i-hate-fa" times. personally, i'm thinking we should do a special setup for them, but not have it be a complete challenge bypass. maybe ask them to do the challenge, and after such and such a time (a week or two maybe) check and see where they are in the challenge, and go from there. is there a way to check and see how many times they've logged in to their challenge? i think more hits on the page would gurantee their dedication enough, but that's just me and i'm a hardass ^_^

I have role-played with Blue a few times, he is a good guy.
I have seen Haelios around alot. He seems very active and is very helpful in pvp battles.
That last guy though I have not seen around that often.
I agree with Eroz about letting them skip the challenge, but still having to get an interview.

I think a complete bypass would be a bit unfair to the rest of us that wen't through the challenge. However, due to special circumstances, perhaps a shorter version of the challenge, or something akin to it. otherwise all we're doing is signing up manpower and muscle, like any other Merv/Mech faction does in Mara.

I have seen Haelios around, but not the others. I think they should have a shot at an interview...

I'm inclined to agree. I've always thought the challenge was an excellent indicator of character. I've always been a fan.

if they do bypass and get an interview, I think they should have a slightly extended trial period, bumped to a week and a half or 2 before they are allowed a tag, I think it'll give us a better feel to playing with them and such.

Though even new members challenge or not are put on the Exercio... if we don't give them the tag that may show some form of distrust... Its not like they were merv/mach and coming to us... like nik0 did... they should be treated the same way any other member would be, perhaps a longer trial, but they should still get the tag.
EDIT: maybe the opertunity like sared said to complete a smaller challenge but within their trial?

Sared is right a complete bypass would be a sign of just needing more man power. If the idea of means we need more man power then maybe we should discuss other creative ways of recruitment.
I mean if you look at the active roster, and compare that to who you have seen on TS or in game, it looks like we are operating at a pretty low capacity. I mean I have yet to see 30 or us on at once, more like 10-14 at best. Not that there is anything wrong with that, it just depends on where we are headed as a faction.
Tbone talked about reorganizing ships, and the way i have seen it from the last 3-4 weeks it seems like we could get away with 2-3 ships for the people that I have played with.
So what it comes down to is a few questions. Are we running at full capacity? If not, would we want to increase that capacity and how, effectively and selectivly with role-playing still a priority. Kinda Like a redpill extraction team.
Having no opinion of what FA was like 2-6 months ago, or if it has changed at all I am just curious, has it, do we feel short handed?
As for these guys, the interview says it all, that is where the final decision is made, they could bea tthe challenge 7 times in a row and be a super genius but it doesnt mean we will take them, and they could get past 3 riddles and 2 months and we might end up liking them. Either way, the ball is always in our court.

=P Thats our grim... i would like to be on the extraction team, but probably not talk much.... My rping skills could use some dusting off xD so id just observe... maybe say a few easy things, but yea i like that idea a lot. And poo, i wont be the youngest in the faction any more =P

Here is an Idea.. kinda combining alot of ideas... perhaps give them the bypass for the interview... if we like them.. we mesh well.. and what not... let them pass... if it is too difficult to get a read.. or perhaps just not really sure about them.. ask them to complete the challenge.. if they are willing then that will show us their type of character...kindof a backwards process... perhaps that would work better for them.. and if we let anyone bypass the challenge put them on an extended "orientation" to two weeks...

It's not a matter of needing more man power. We don't. It's a matter of helping out some friends in need. For the most part, the Illuminati has always been friendly with us, aiding us in-game. A lot of these guys are used to working alongside us to begin with, so under these special circumstances, I can rationalize bypassing the challenge. The reason these three are leaving the Illuminati to begin with is that the faction is no longer "hardcore" enough for them. That has to say something about the kind of gamers they are.

Very true, that makes sense Tbone, i still like the idea of doing a redpill extraction sorta thing........ i dunno but some excersize in roleplaying would be fun! But as for them getting in, i dont see a problem, if *I* was allowed in, people from the illuminati should get in no trouble at all xD

Short version:
Pass them.
Long Version:
Tonight both of them, and myself ran into a masked black dressed lady at Mara. =) Some words were exchanged between me and the masked miss, and Blue and Ade overheard and started asking questions. After Kritical killed us off, they contacted me to arrange a meeting. They wanted to know details of what they had heard. I RPed with some guidance and precautions, and they seemed to really get into it. I later grouped with them a bit for some missions and asked them a bit about thier intentions with FA and past and current situation with Illuminati. They bascily told me that they have been very interested int eh way FA operates and gets things done. They told me they respected FA and a bunch of other stuff we'd expect to hear from people wanting in. I think I keep things in perspective that everyone knows we like to hear "i love FA, I respect FA, you guys are great blah blah", but these guys showed some commitment to seek out info about a situation they knew nothing about. I also talked with them in Illumin's TS serv and despite not being able to hear them very well, they seemed very kind and dedicated. Sometimes they had acted kinda like "OMG FA is here /bow..... must-speak-proper!" which isn't a problem, it's a sign they want to impress-they care. I don't really care for al lthat jazz much, but I did enjoy BSing with them like we do in TS. I say pass em to the interview and let us drill them there.

I have had a chance to mission w/ Blue last night and he was around when a Merv kept challenging me to fight, he watched my back even though he could not do anything but warn me if someone was going to interfear. That showed what kind of team member he would be. I have not worked w/ the other two, but i don't see a problem w/ letting them pass to the interview and see how that goes. I am also in agreement that due to the situation the trial period should be longer(2 weeks).

Nutty??? I resent that!!
Jk. I know Blue and Ademaro pretty well, and I know they both really want to join FA. Blue's been after the challenges for at least two months now. Ademaro tried to join before, but he was declined after his interview. He worked on the challenges everyday after school until late at night for several weeks.
Ademaro may be a little "dull", but there's no doubting his dedication.
