More news from Walrus... When asked about DN1 Updates at http://mxoboards.station.sony.com/matrix/board/message?board.id=general&message.id=6722#M6722

Updates should be coming soon. We have a new patch coming out next week, our lead designer is working on a dev journal, and the new Sentinel is almost ready to go. I'm also working on a revamp of Other Side of the Looking Glass.

Part of the delay is simply getting used to the new procedures for the website. Updates will come more frequently as I get things squared away.

Also details regarding events in game.

We continue to work on establishing the future of events in the game. The first step will be instituting the Live Events Special Interest Group, which I can focus more on now that the billing transition is finished.

We're looking at more efficient ways to implement events in MxO. Anyone who has participated in a past event can tell you that there were complications in pulling them off. While it may be difficult to see how, many of these issues require dev time to fix.

While we will be relying more on scripted events, we also recognize the value of live actors playing in-game characters. It may take some time to get everything in place, but events are not going to be swept under the rug.

It was only a matter of time.

Frankly, if I had to choose between NPC-driven Live Events, and no Live Events at all, I'd choose the NPCs in a heart beat.  If that is in fact what they are going to do, I think the implementation of the LESIG will help the events seem less "boilerplate" and scripted.

Thank god Walrus finally said something.

I agree with Manic...

I would go for the scripted NPC event over nothing.

Also him saying updates will become more often is the same as when Valve (who before HL2 were silent as hell) said they were going to be updating users through "Steam's Weekly Update News".  I prefer to see some activity from members of the development team or staff, even if its a little "Hello were still working on feature x, but were not sure when it will be ready for release." it gives me the sence that they care about their customers... even if they don't.

dude valve does do weekly updates, it seems ever time i open steam which is after i restart sometimes there is almost always a new weekly update news thing there.

Edit: I just opened and there is a new one. But i reread and it said before HL2 went silent, I dont reamember when that happened(I have short term memory)

Man you confused the shit outta me... and maybe I confused you too... but to just as clarification to what I meant:  Before HL2 was released Valve was very quiet, never said a word, then since they released it they've been great at letting the community know whats up and coming, and other people working on games that are being developed on the source engine.

Sorry for any confusion ;)

Im really getting tired of waiting for something to happen.  Any type of info on the development would be nice.
