Title: CSs sounds downloads getting you down?
Post by: Eroz on September 19, 2005, 12:46:09 pm
Well there is a solution, that no one bothered to tell me.

1. Open up notepad/wordpad.
2. Input the line "cl_downloadfilter nosounds" (without quotes)
3. Go to File > Save As....
4. Save the file in "C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<yourusername>\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg"
File name: "autoexec.cfg" Save as type: All Files Encoding: ANSI
5. Now go enjoy a nice game of CSs without some bastard making you download 25 music files that you never hear in the first place.

(Note if you already have your own autoexec file just add the line "cl_downloadfilter nosounds" to it. I also believe that it could be stored in the C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\....... folder.)

Yeah, also that client variable should work for any other HL2 mod...
