anyone else think that's a little blatant? not sure if this guy is in the clan or not, but i think we shouldn't even be using the word 'source' in the recruitment threads.

Absolutely.  His email isn't listed, and that's his first post, so we can't contact him (unless he's one of us, which I doubt).  It would be wise just to let that thread die, since posting warnings to him would only bring more attention to the blatant hint.

we should let the mxo threads die down and start a fresh one, this way all mistakes made one those threads will be effectively removed

The mistakes are repetitively made.

We could, alternatively, spam the hell out of the offending thread and make sure the "obvious" hint is left in the dust on an earlier page - people rarely read through them all.

That or we could just post bogus hints on there, and have so many going on at once that nobody would trust any hint given anymore.

At this point I don't think it matters if the puzzle solution is leakes since we are cutting off recruitment.  Even if they finish the puzzle by cheating this way, we will simply disregard the application email they send.

I officially can't figure it out.  Which probably doesn't say much!

But I AM worried that we may be cutting off a large portion of cool people ... which probably also doesn't matter since we want to close recruiting anyway.   I think one has to be truly seriously obsessive to break this code if all the people who have ALREADY proven we go a little beyond the norm can't figure this one out.

Could be wrong, though, since I can't crack it yet.
