Here is something to get the blood pumping again. Walrus has made a contest to the best MxO movie to be shown to the entire SOE staff. Broin can show his sophmore effort of editing and filming off. Lets get creative.
Here is the link:

Lets win this and show everyone we still and always will be a force.
It ends December 1st.

will we be submitting the old FA video we made during beta?
-
no high enough rez. Maybe its time we make grim's story into a movie.
-
Yea definately something brand new. Grims story could definately be done.
Or perhaps we could do a fan made version of one of FA getting taken in by Agents to the Gov. building and then have FA come in fight a bunch of Swat in the ground floor and then go up to the Roof and save the FA member. The helicopter has a use now that we could get some sweet footage of it trying to make its way to the roof before the FA member is saved. What do you guys think?
-
Are we only going to submit one movie representing the faction or a couple? That sounds like a good idea, Orien. We could try and finish up that little thing for Sin City if you guys want also.
-
We could remake the FA vid in high res and stuff.
-
Im up for finishing our Sin City movie, but getting everyone on that was in it will be hard.
-
How about something with the other factions, a story told from each org, all ending with a fight and uneasy peace.

Could we possibly incorporate any of the "Ship Screens" in our movie? They're freely downloadable, so I don't think there would be any legal problems in using them. It would really add a unique touch to make our video stand out if used properly.

That is definitely a good idea if you're using Grim's story. I'd say go with that. If you want a hand with any static image editing or soundtrack, I'll be happy to lend a hand

For the rest of us who may not remember, what is Grim's story about??
-
its about Grim and her adventures, with FA.
-
The only problem with some of grims story is that the vast part of the beginning deals outside the matrix on the ships...
-
indeed...
-
...Hence the backgrounds from the official site. I'm sure something could be spliced in
-
that or we could film bits.. and pieces in the real... I am pretty sure Grim and Fuse live fairly close..
directors note* film scenes dealing with her room.. all you need is to use an unfinished basement, put a cot and a desk with a computer close to a cement corner... light it poorly... voila.... you have REAL in your video*
just a thought... (trying to counteract my pessimistic statement from earlier) :-D
-
We do indeed live close. We have also tossed around the idea of useing another game - HL2 - as the Real world.

Now that I would like to see :p

Well im not too advanced in this sort of thing, but if you can put characters moving over the pictures of the ship decks, most of the areas that you need for her story are right there, and you can find a way to edit the other scenes out while still having the story make sense. HL2 would also do nicely... Hmm, that idea is interesting.
